Arnold Schwarzenegger has had an interesting movie career after his term as Governor of California, with the crime thriller The Last Stand being one of his more underrated projects. Now the film is starting to get some extra attention on Netflix. According to FlixPatrol, the film is currently sitting at #1 on the streaming platform.

The Last Stand is an action film about a sheriff in a sleepy Arizona border town that reluctantly agrees to help the FBI and police make a last stand against a drug baron who escaped from custody and is heading for the border. The film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as the sheriff along with Forest Whitaker, Johnny Knoxville, Rodrigo Santoro, Jaimie Alexander, Luis Guzman, Eduardo Noriega, Peter Stormare, Zach Gilford, and Genesis Rodriguez. The film was directed by South Korean filmmaker Kim Jee-Woon with a screenplay by Andrew Knauer.

The Last Stand was fairly well-received by critics, as they deemed it a perfectly serviceable action movie. While it’s not going to be an Earth-shattering film experience by any means, it’s a breezy action flick and a great watch for fans of Arnold Schwarzenegger. His late-stage career has never quite hit the highs of his golden era, but Arnie can still turn in a solid action-hero performance.

The Last Stand was Arnold Schwarzenegger’s first leading role after ending his term as Governor of California. This probably helped the film perform decently at the box office, as fans were excited to see him as the main character again on the big screen. While the box office performance wasn’t anything to write home about, it did manage to pull in around $48.3 million combined between domestic and global.

Nowadays, Arnold Schwarzenegger is making a return to some of the characters and franchises that made him famous. He’s returned for two Terminator movies with Terminator: Genisys and Terminator: Dark Fate. However, these movies were critical and commercial busts, so hopefully, he’ll have more success with his upcoming projects.

Arnold Schwarzenegger will be returning to one of his best comedy roles in the sequel to the offbeat Twins with Triplets, which will see him and Danny DeVito reprising their roles as Julius and Vincent Benedict. This time, they found out they have a third brother who is played by Tracy Morgan

Arnold Schwarzenegger will also be playing a TV lead for the first time in the Netflix series FUBAR, which is a spiritual successor to True Lies. The series follows a father and daughter who have both been CIA operatives for years without either of them knowing the other is an agent. Schwarzenegger is the father, and Monica Barbaro plays his daughter.

Along with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Barbaro, FUBAR stars Jay Baruchel, Aparna Brielle, Andy Buckley, Milan Carter, Fortune Feimster, Barbara Eve Harris, Gabriel Luna, Fabiana Udenio, and Travis Van Winkle. The series is created by Nick Santora and produced by Skydance Television and Blackjack Films. The release for the series isn’t very far off, as it’s set to hit Netflix on May 25.

Perhaps the hype for FUBAR is helping Arnold Schwarzenegger’s The Last Stand climb the rankings. After all, it isn’t one of his movies that a ton of people have seen, so it’s a good opportunity to catch an Arnie film you might have missed out on. Netflix also has Twins and Conan the Destroyer on its platform if you’re interested in an Arnold movie marathon.

Now wouldn’t be a bad time to check out Conan the Destroyer either, as Arnold Schwarzenegger is reprising that role in a future project as well. That film has experienced delays, and there’s no word on when we can expect it, but it’s a good excuse to check out an Arnold movie while he was at his peak. It’s not his best film by any means, but it’s still pretty fun.

Other than FUBAR, the only Arnold Schwarzenegger with a solid release date is Kung Fury 2, which is scheduled for a November 17 release. The David Sandberg starring and directed film will also feature Michael Fassbender, Alexandra Shipp, Jorma Taccone, Louis Emrick, and David Hasselhoff. The film is based on the short film of the same name.

While we wait for the rest of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s projects, make sure to check out The Last Stand on Netflix. It’s the perfect film for a lazy afternoon or a movie night. Meanwhile, we’ll keep you updated with more Arnie news.
