Amber Heard just won’t stop. Aquaman 2 is happening, and she is doing everything she can to rub in the fact that yes, she is returning as Mera, as evidenced by her recent Instagram picture.

The newly posted photo shows Amber Heard dressed as Mera, snuggled on the carpet in what appears to be her closet. She captioned the photo, “Forgot my pyjamas,” but also included the hashtags #tbt and #aquaman2.

Everyone knows that the “tbt” moniker stands for “throwback Thursday”, so now the question that surely will be raised is when was this photo taken? Is this Amber Heard in her current Aquaman 2 costume or simply one from the first movie. If it’s new, then why the “tbt” hashtag?

Of course, given Amber Heard’s recent past having trouble telling the truth, this is a legitimate question. The much-maligned actress was once again called to the carpet by fans of Johnny Depp when the actress posted a picture of her supposedly working out for her role in the upcoming Aquaman 2 film.

Anti-Amber Heard fans immediately called “bs” to the picture being recent and YouTuber ThatUmbrellaGuy even went so far as dedicate an entire video laying claim that Heard’s workout picture was actually taken 4 years ago. Obviously, the hate against the actress is evident, but the similarities between both pictures are quite uncanny. One picture was posted on April 25, 2021, while the first one hit social media on May 22, 2017.

Two things ThatUmbrellaGuy points out about the veracity of her postings is that both pictures show Amber Heard wearing the same workout clothes. He also points out that her hair in both pictures shows the same pink highlights, something not seen in Heard’s recent Instagram pictures.

None of this, though, is stopping or even slowing down Amber Heard. She continues to go all-in on the fact that she is reprising her role as Mera and there isn’t anything anyone, especially her ex-husband Johnny Depp, can do about it.

Johnny Depp fans have made their voice heard (or is that Heard?). They want the same punishment for her as was given out to Depp. Petitions, with many signatures, have begun, asking Warner Bros. to do to Amber Heard what they did with Depp when they released him from Fantastic Beasts. While fans want it, the situation may be more legally twisted than Depp fans were hoping for.

Amber Heard’s situation is more straightforward than Depp’s, legally speaking. Regardless of all the petitions, Warner Bros. simply can’t do what they are asking. They can’t break their contract with the actress (the contract calls for the sequel) because no criminal charges were filed against her. She can’t even be asked to resign, much like Depp was, because she hasn’t lost any civil judgment. At least not yet.

Depp’s lawyers are still on the trail as more and more evidence is beginning to emerge that perhaps Amber Heard and her friends/family may actually have glossed over the truth. Bodycam footage from a night the ex-couple got into a huge fight and had to call the police has been released showing what Heard claims does not look to be true.

According to Amber Heard and friends, Depp allegedly threw a phone at Heard’s face then began to break furniture with a wine bottle. But when officers arrived, one being a domestic violence specialist, they saw no signs of a fight. Domestic violence specialist Melissa Saenz spoke out on the alleged crime stating via We Got This Covered, “I did not identify her as a victim of domestic violence,” Saenz said. “We met with the victim, we checked the location, the husband wasn’t there, and that the victim advised us she wasn’t going to give us further information.”

It’s a messy and disgusting situation and though Depp has lost a battle or two in court, it’s far from over.

For now, Aquaman 2 director James Wan looks to get things rolling in front of the cameras in June. Aquaman 2, we know for sure, will see Jason Momoa return as Arthur Curry, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Patrick Wilson as King Orm/Ocean Master, and Temuera Morrison as Arthur Curry father, Tom. Yes, for now, the film also expects to have Amber Heard back in her skin-tight costume as Mera.

There is no set premiere date though the film is expected to drop close to Christmas 2022.
