If you’re the type of person who thinks Taco Bell is a great place to grab breakfast, you’re in luck! The longstanding quasi-Mexican fast food joint has a deal that lines up perfectly with your tastes! ComicBook.com reports that during the month of June, anyone who uses the mobile app can get a free Breakfast Crunchwrap on Tuesdays. This breakfast version of Taco Bell’s top-selling item will be free to any app users who order it on Tuesday mornings before 11 a.m.

The deal, which is clearly intended to promote both the new-ish Breakfast Crunchwrap and to get more people to use the app, requires users to sign up for rewards. The app lets users collect points by buying food, which gives them discounts and free food. Taco Bell launched its rewards program back in 2020 — five years after launching a different loyalty program, also revolving around a mobile app.

The Breakfast Crunchwrap is a recent addition to Taco Bell’s menu, having only been released in April 2023. The tortilla-wrappped polygonal breakfast item comes in three varieties — the Breakfast California Crunchwrap, the Breakfast Crunchwrap Bacon, and the Breakfast Crunchwrap Sausage. All three contain egg, hash browns, and cheese, with the rest of the ingredients changing based on your order.

The Breakfast Crunchwrap is just the latest iteration of the Crunchwrap Supreme, a franchise staple that was introduced in 2005. The item reportedly took 15 years to develop at Taco Bell’s Innovation Kitchen, becoming the company’s most successful product launch ever. It was one of the few non-classic items to survive Taco Bell’s choice to cut down its menu in 2020, when it removed items such as the 7-Layer Burrito, the Taco Salad, and (temporarily) the Mexican Pizza.

Taco Bell followed up its success with the Crunchwrap Supreme by introducing a vegetarian option — the Black Bean Crunchwrap Supreme, which replaced the original Crunchwrap’s ground beef with a mixture of black beans and nacho cheese. The vegetarian version was launched in 2019, alongside a Black Bean Quesarito. Like many other items, the Black Bean Quesarito did not survive Taco Bell’s 2020 menu culling.

Taco Bell has also announced that it has created a new vegan version of the Crunchwrap Supreme, which it is currently testing in the Los Angeles, Orlando, and New York City markets. The vegan option uses a plant-based protein developed by Taco Bell, along with vegan versions of their cheese sauces. Testing started earlier this June, and it’s not clear when (or even if) the product will be released to the wider market.

While it’s too late to get a free Breakfast Crunchwrap this Tuesday, you have two more chances to get themselves a free meal: Tuesday, June 20, and Tuesday, June 27. After 11 a.m. on June 27, anyone who wants to try the Breakfast Crunchwrap will have to shell out about four bucks to buy their own. After the end of this promotion, Taco Bell will be bringing back its much-beloved Volcano Menu.
