Aubrey Plaza floored fans on Instagram with photos of her modeling a see-through miniskirt with green sequins, topped by a barely-buttoned dress shirt. The photoshoot for clothing brand J. Crew is the latest documenting the Agatha: Coven of Chaos star’s impressive fashion looks. From Guy Ritchie films to fashion shoots, Aubrey Plaza is doing it all.

The focus was on the threads for this photo shoot. Aubrey Plaza wore her hair back and displayed an elegant, neutral makeup look that honed her features without drawing the eye from her bold outfit. She accessorized the look with gold jewelry and nude-colored wedges.

“Shoutout to my @jcrew khakis from high school,” Aubrey Plaza wrote on Instagram, followed by a nerdy smiley face emoji. “Getting nostalgic about style through the decades to celebrate 40 years of J. Crew.”

The official J. Crew Instagram account posted the same photos of Plaza, along with a bonus photo that gave a close-up look at Plaza’s makeup and accessories as she adjusted the collar of her oversized shirt. With that post, the fashion company quoted Aubrey Plaza as she went into more detail about her J. Crew nostalgia.

“I wore a uniform in high school,” recalled Plaza, “but even on the dress-down days, I would always rock my J.Crew khaki pants and sweater-vest.”

The actress’ fashion triumph was spoiled in the comments section by angry fans criticizing Aubrey Plaza for her participation in an advertisement for milk. Today reported on the backlash against Plaza’s previous Instagram post, a faux commercial for Wood Milk that mocked non-dairy milk alternatives. “Only real milk is real,” Plaza asserts in the ad.

Aubrey Plaza disabled comments on the post, so environmental and animal rights activists flooded the comments on her J. Crew photos to call the actress out for supporting what many call an environmentally destructive industry. Plaza’s alliance with the dairy industry was a major turn-off to many of her followers, but others supported her or brushed off the partnership as inconsequential.

Aubrey Plaza had a banner year in 2022 with the lead role in the Netflix film Emily the Criminal and a spot in the acclaimed ensemble cast of HBO’s The White Lotus. She was most recently seen alongside Jason Statham in Guy Ritchie’s Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, and will appear next in her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

Plaza is also a member of the star-studded cast of Megalopolis, the epic new film from legendary director Francis Ford Coppola. She will join another celebrity-laden ensemble when she and the rest of the original cast of Scott Pilgrim vs the World reprise their roles to voice a new anime series based on the comic book.

Aubrey Plaza is also set to star in the comedy film My Old Ass. From writer/director Megan Park, the film follows a young woman who is visited by an older, future version of herself. The older version warns her younger self not to fall in love. The young woman’s confidence that she can avoid such a fate is shaken when she meets the boy she was warned about.

From Parks and Recreation to Ingrid Goes West and The White Lotus, Aubrey Plaza has become a Hollywood staple. Her edgy, deadpan humor is iconic, and her fashion is not far behind. There is no doubt that Aubrey Plaza is on a hot streak, and it looks as though the actress intends to milk it for all it’s worth.
