It’s been a long road for Amber Heard. She met actor Johnny Depp in 2009. They married in 2015. She filed for divorce in May 2016. And today, Johnny Depp’s lawyer spends his time trashing her on Twitter. Since coming out with abuse allegations against Depp, Heard has become more and more vocal over the years. Recently, she took to Instagram with two pictures that show her in the same dress but in a very different light.

The first picture shows Amber Heard in May 2016. The photo shows her wearing a black dress with a bruise on her cheek. She is attending a court hearing in Los Angeles. She was in the process of getting a restraining order against Johnny Depp. On this day, a judge ruled that Depp was not to contact her between hearings.

The second photo is from July 2020. Four years later, and months into the coronavirus pandemic, Amber Heard is wearing the same dress, a red face mask, and has her shoulders back and two people at her sides. This time, she’s in the United Kingdom. Johnny Depp has filed a libel lawsuit against The Sun for calling him a “wife-beater”. Amber Heard is testifying to the fact that calling him a “wife-beater” was a fair move on the part of The Sun. Months later, the court ruled against Depp. He filed an appeal, and again lost. Journalists in the United Kingdom were ruled fairly able to refer to Johnny Depp as a man who beats women without fear of lawsuits.

Amber Heard’s Instagram post in the dress came a few days after Depp lost the appeal. At the time he lost the appeal, she posted a statement to Instagram.

Heard has had her hands full handling the public backlash from her relationship with Johnny Depp, who has been a Hollywood staple for decades. His fans have signed petitions demanding she be fired from her role as Mera in Aquaman 2. There were reports of Depp working to have her fired. Depp has said her allegations were a hoax. Amidst all this, Amber Heard has maintained that she will not be silenced. Five years past filing for divorce, the actress is still speaking up about what happened to her.

While it seems like a full-time job, it’s not the only thing she has going on. Amber Heard has been part of a move to make revenge porn a federal crime. Following the posts about Depp’s trial, she shared another photo of herself in a different black dress. This time, to commemorate that after years in the making, the SHIELD Act amendment was made to the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2021. Since revenge porn mostly happens online, making it a federal crime greatly increases the chances of clear-cut consequences for perpetrators.

As for her work as an actress, she was recently seen as Mera in Zack Snyder’s Justice League on HBO Max. While there is little news on it yet, it was announced she’ll soon be in a movie called Run Away With Me. The next time we’ll likely see her on-screen is in Aquaman 2 as Mera. While rumors continue to circulate that she will be removed from the project, that seems less and less likely to happen. While the pandemic has caused delays, it’s currently believed we’ll see Aquaman 2 in theaters on December 16, 2022.
