It’s obvious at least to GFR that J.J. Abrams, Carlton Cuse, and Damon Lindelof were confronted by actual time travelers who threatened their lives if they continued on with their show about a dimension-shifting donkey wheel hidden underground on “the Island.” Members of the Bertha crew were (not really) reported to have heard voices in front of the blocked drill saying things like, “We need to go back,” “We have to leave,” and “Waaaaaalt!” There’s also a 15% chance it could be a lighthouse where Bertha could see herself in its many mirrors.
