jurassic world legoOne of the most anticipated movies of 2015 is Colin Trevorrow’s reboot-ish sequel Jurassic World, and one of the ways that people love to experience movies is in small plastic block form. So it goes without saying—even though I’m saying it—that the upcoming Jurassic World LEGO set is going to make many a fan’s tiny dino dreams come true next year. We now know what at least part of the set will look like, as the picture above shows off a wild scene full of snapped-together danger.

There’s a lot to take in here, although it’s unclear just how much of this scene will be released for public consumption. We’ve got the dinosaurs for sure, and Chris Pratt’s Owen is definitely getting one. We can also presume that B.D. Wong’s Dr. Henry Wu, seen up by the spotlight, will be in there. But what about the helicopter and the building where Wu is standing? Maybe somebody made a LEGO version of the trailer that I can play with if this set doesn’t deliver settings.

Here’s a good look at the T-Rex figure seen in the shot above. This doesn’t look like the classic Jurassic Park T-Rex that was rumored to show up in this film, but he’s apparently good at taking down spear-tossing generic white LEGO figures with ease.

Are these a new trained group of raptors, or just a bunch of cool looking backstabbers? (Or backbiters, as it were.) In any case, I want to get the color scheme of the bottom right raptor on my car.

jurassic world legoIncidentally, this will be the third time in less than two years that Pratt will find himself rendered in LEGO form. He was also used for his Emmett character in The LEGO Movie and as Star-Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy set. Obviously this means that LEGO has created the most spectacular way to mash-up these three movies for an afternoon of sarcastic glory.

LEGO’s Jurassic World set is expected to hit stores in May 2015, just in time to tie into the film’s theatrical release on June 12, 2015. Can your toy shelf handle this?
