“Attack of the Radioactive Hamsters from a Planet Near Mars”
I tell you, if it isn’t slime creatures, it’s those dastardly radioactive hamsters. Appearing on the soundtrack to the cult classic UHF, “Attack of the Radioactive Hamsters from a Planet Near Mars” pits the planet Earth against alien hamsters that were “big as a blimp” and “the size of Central Park.” That’s one of the most frightening images I can imagine. “It’s All About the Pentiums”
A spoof of Puff Daddy’s “It’s All About the Benjamins (Rock Remix),” Weird Al’s “It’s All About the Pentiums” isn’t one of the parodist’s most memorable songs, yet it’s still more memorable than anything Puff Daddy came out with. (The Godzilla soundtrack’s “Come With Me” was far more ridiculous than any Weird Al song.) This Running With Scissors single is a laundry list of computer and tech-related gags, with a video that includes the hilariously offbeat comedian Emo Philips. It’s always nice to hear Weird Al bring his rapping skills to the table, where lines like “double clicking on my mizouse” and rhymes like “braindead AOL-er” and “Helen Keller” can be served up.
