The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Winston Duke is the latest to join the growing cast of Ryan Gosling’s The Fall Guy. Duke joins the previously announced cast that includes Emily Blunt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Stephanie Hsu. Bullet Train‘s David Leitch is directing the project.

The Fall Guy is Universal’s reboot of the 1980s TV show starring Lee Majors, which followed a stuntman that moonlighted as a bounty hunter. The film will go a different route, with Gosling playing a stuntman past his prime that is brought back to double for a star that replaced him long ago — except the star goes missing. Winston Duke was cast as the stuntman’s best friend with Aaron Taylor-Johnson playing the movie star, Hsu playing his assistant, and Emily Blunt playing a makeup artist who used to date the stuntman.

Winston Duke has another big action movie role right around the corner, with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever coming to theaters on November 11. Duke will once again be playing the role of M’Baku, who is the head of Wakanda’s Jabari tribe. Although it seems likely that Letitia Wright’s Shuri will take on the mantle of Black Panther after the passing of Chadwick Boseman, it’s entirely possible that Marvel could throw a curveball and have M’Baku don the suit next.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will see Wakanda have to contend with a new world power in the form of Tenoch Huerta’s Namor the Sub-mariner and his underwater city of Atlantis. Ryan Coogler is back in the director’s chair and co-wrote the script with Joe Robert Cole. Along with Winston Duke, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will star Angela Bassett, Tenoch Huerta, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong’o, Florence Kasumba, Martin Freeman, and Dominique Thorne.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Winston Duke on screen, as his most recent films were in 2020 with Spenser Confidential and Nine Days. We also haven’t seen him reprise the role of M’Baku since his appearance in Avengers: Endgame. However, it looks like Duke has quite a few projects on his plate, along with his recently announced role in The Fall Guy.

Winston Duke’s next big role after Black Panther 2 should be Marked Man, which tells the story of a young black man that joins J. Edgar Hoover’s Federal Bureau of Investigation and is tasked with infiltrating the UNIA. Duke will be playing Jamaican activist Marcus Garvey, who founded the UNIA. Marked Man is directed by Andrew Dosunmu and written by Esther Douglas and Kwame Kwei-Armah.

If you can’t wait until Friday to see Winston Duke return as a Marvel character in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, you may be surprised to learn that Duke actually played another very famous comic book character recently. Duke voiced Bruce Wayne/Batman for a podcast series called Batman Unburied, which was renewed for a second season in June and was created and written by The Dark Knight‘s David S. Goyer. The podcast is available to stream on Spotify and also features Hasan Minhaj, Gina Rodriguez, Jason Isaacs, Lance Reddick, Sam Witwer, and John Rhys-Davies in the cast.
