The full suit design for Marvel Studio’s new Black Panther has been revealed. Originally set to debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, images of several new Funko! Pops gave fans a look at the complete costume. Only part of the black-and-gold fabric was shown in the movie’s trailer. Although the identity of King of T’Challa’s successor remains unconfirmed, the mask matches the face paint markings worn by Shuri.

Although nothing has been confirmed, Marvel merchandise has been known to give away crucial story details since the products are released before the movie. Additionally, a Reddit user previously shared the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever potential spoiler saying that Shuri will take up the superhero mantle. But the post also noted that Winston Duke’s M’Baku will be crowned the new King of Wakanda when the story ends.

The leak also reveals that Chadwick Boseman’s death will be subtly incorporated into the film. In the story, King T’Challa suddenly dies from an unnamed illness before a war between Wakanda and Atlantis. This is when Shuri creates an artificial flower to gain Black Panther’s powers and access to the ancestral plane. Once there, she meets Michael B. Jordan’s Killmonger who helps her become Wakanda’s new protector.

The post also says the Black Panther follow-up will introduce Atlantis, Namor, and more to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Wakanda Forever is directed by Ryan Coogler from a script he co-wrote with Joe Robert Cole. The movie will feature returning cast members like Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Dominique Thorne, and Danny Sapani.

While official plot details are slightly vague, the story sees the leaders of Wakanda fight to protect their nation from invading forces in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. The film also stars Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena, and Alex Livanalli. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever began filming in Atlanta, GA in 2021, but production paused several times due to the global pandemic. Fortunately, the movie will finally arrive in theaters on November 11, 2022.

Although it will be to strange see someone other than Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, it sounds like Marvel did their best to honor him. Letitia Wright has portrayed King of T’Challa’s younger sister since 2018. She went on to reprise the role in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. When asked about her potential new role during San Diego Comic-Con she said, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

The actress then encouraged everyone to get a ticket to the movie. When introducing the teaser of the Black Panther sequel at the event, Coogler dedicated it to the memory of Chadwick Boseman who lost his battle with cancer in 2019. “I promise you, I can feel his hand on me right now,” he said. “The impact he made on this industry will be felt forever.”

Interestingly, Letitia Wright recently revealed that portraying Black Panther had come up early in her Marvel career. Speaking to Empire, the actress said she had discussed the possibility with Ryan Coogler and Boseman. “I had a chat about it with Ryan and Chad when we were making Black Panther, and we touched on it briefly,” she said. But when she realized she was playing Shuri, it was something that the star really looked forward to.
