Chris Pratt Plays With His Raptor Team In These Jurassic World Photos

Jurassic WorldParks and Recreation may be over and done, but don’t worry, we’re still going to see Chris Pratt everywhere. We’re going to get Guardians of the Galaxy sequels for years, if he plays Indiana Jones that could go on for quite a while, and he’s seemingly up for damn near every male lead in Hollywood these days. But next we’re going to see him fight dinosaurs in Jurassic World, and today brings some new stills from that film.

The highlight of these photos from Empire is the one that shows Pratt’s character Owen working on training Velociraptors. Though we’ve seen this particular moment a couple times in trailers and what not, it hasn’t gotten old yet, and it will take a lot to get there. This also seems like a bad idea, like trying to domesticate a raccoon. No matter how much you teach it, you can’t really train out the wild. But I guess we’ll see.

Jurassic WorldWhat we know of the plot sees John Hammond’s vision of a dinosaur theme park finally realized. Now open to the public, Jurassic World has become the most popular destination in the world, but when the Masrani Corporation, which owns the park, commissions a new creature made from the T-rex, Velociraptor, snake, and cuttlefish DNA, things take a disastrous turn. It escapes and wreaks havoc and Owen and his team of clever girls (I keep picturing them in matching sequined jumpsuits for some reason) try to save the day.

Jurassic WorldYou also get to see a shot of Owen looking very serious in some kind of control room. Given that you can see what look like security guards, and their vital signs, on the displays, you have to imagine that at some point you’re going to see those heart rate monitors flat line and everyone is going to get real sad for a moment.

Jurassic WorldThere’s another shot of Pratt working with director Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed)…

…and one of helicopter flying around the lush, tropical settings. As we know, the park is set on Isla Nublar, which is where Steven Spielberg’s 1993 original takes place.

Jurassic World also stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D’Onofrio, Omar Sy, Irrfan Khan, Nick Robinson, Ty Simpkins, BD Wong, Judy Greer, and many more, and opens everywhere June 12.
