If there is one thing that the super popular Tiger King series has taught us, most of the people on the series have been into some very nefarious things. Joe Exotic has been in prison for quite some time, and now it appears as if he will be seeing some friends on the inside. The FBI has arrested another of the controversial figures from the show. Bhagavan “Doc” Antle, who was pegged as Exotic’s other competition apart from Carol Baskin, has been taken in by the FBI. The reason for his arrest allegedly has to do with money laundering.

Doc Antle has had many run-ins with the law, and this is just another on the long list of times in which the wildlife rescue entrepreneur has found himself at odd ends with authorities. He has been linked to allegedly having relationships with minors, felony animal trafficking in 2020, and has even been accused of running a cult at his business in Myrtle Beach. Antle has denied those claims. Many of the negative claims about him had been detailed in his own Netflix documentary.

Doc Antle has had a big footprint on the Hollywood scene, as the man was the former animal expert on the set of Doctor Doolittle. He also provided animals for films that include Mighty Joe Young, the live-action version of The Jungle Book from 1994, and The Second Jungle Book in 1997. He was also the animal expert on both Ace Ventura films, Wild America, The Notorious Bettie Page, and even the iconic performance for “I’m A Slave 4 U” by Britney Spears at the Video Music Awards for MTV. The man was also the subject of a spinoff documentary called Tiger King: The Doc Antle Story, which was released on Netflix in 2021.

To be arrested by the FBI is certainly a series issue. Whatever he has done, has led to one of the biggest government agencies taking him in. The same thing happened with Joe Exotic, in a sense. He had been investigated for a long time before his Netflix documentary series went into detail about Exotic’s downfall. The same thing may have happened to Doc Antle. We might be seeing a new Netflix series come out of this. Tiger King Season 2 did just drop last year, although it was certainly not the draw that the first season of the series was.

Although the Tiger King series essentially lost its steam after the first season dropped during the worst of the pandemic, we may not be seeing the end of these stories that surround these controversial animal wranglers. It seems that every year, more details come out about these “sanctuaries”, and someone ends up getting arrested. Even Carol Baskin has been accused of killing her husband for years now. Though these are just accusations, there have been no arrests made in that regard.

Tiger King might just be the series that keeps on giving at this point, though everyone might be tired of hearing about these folks. We will have to wait and see the confirmation of the trouble Doc Antle has gotten himself into. Netflix might not detail it, but keep your eyes peeled for details in the coming weeks for the confirmation of his arrest for money laundering.
