We know, from the end of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom that the world had entered a strange new order in which dinosaurs have now broken containment and are beginning to roam the world. The events of that movie and the final moments let on that things had really gone to plaid. But apparently, it’s gotten a whole lot worse in the interim, and Jurassic World 3 is going to open us into a prehistoric hellscape. Apparently, this movie will start Chris Pratt and company off with a world basically at war, dinosaurs, and people locked into bloody battles that have been raging for some time.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly (via ScreenRant), Jurassic World 3 writer and director Colin Trevorrow let on some details about where the movie will pick up and what’s in store for humanity now that dinosaurs are roaming around like they own the place. Trevorrow talked about how the movie will open and what the state of the world is now that dinosaurs aren’t just an amusement park attraction. The flick is set to pick up with Chris Pratt four years after the events of the previous one and things have really gone prehistoric. He says, “(The dinosaurs) have been multiplying and living amongst (humans) and clashing with us…”

Now, clashing with us can take a lot of different forms for Jurassic World 3. We could be looking at dinosaurs being nuisances more than anything else, needing to be wrangled up before they do too much damage. Or we could be looking at an all-out war zone with the military involved and the whole thing looking very much like a dystopian horror movie. My guess is it is somewhere in between and that’s where we are going to need the help of some of the dinosaur experts like Chris Pratt who live in this world. Suffice to say the dinosaurs have become an invasive species and from previous movies, we know they can be more than a handful to deal with.

The good news is that Jurassic World 3 will bring back much of this trilogy’s cast for the final story. Of course, Chris Pratt returns as Owen Grady, and Bryce Dallas Howard is back as Claire Dearing. And we are also getting a throwback to the original series as well, clearly brought in for a little expertise and as a hat tip to the first movies. Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum are back as Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, and Ian Malcolm respectively. The gang is all here in this respect and it should be a wild romp through a world infested by all kinds of killer reptiles.

And in terms of box office success, Jurassic World 3 could be headed for some big numbers. Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom combined for more than $2 billion dollars at the box office. Chris Pratt and Dominion might not hit those same heights considering the state of theaters and Covid protocols. But it should still hit a pretty big number. The movie is set to release on June 10, 2022. And when we finally get there dinosaurs could be running this place, having run rampant over the world.
