Mad Men star Jon Hamm will reprise his vocal role as one of Star Wars’ most iconic roles in the upcoming From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi anthology, which celebrates Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi’s 40th anniversary with 40 additional short stories that provide a completely new perspective on the events portrayed in the movie.

Jon Hamm will voice Boba Fett in the audiobook version of From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi, a Star Wars anthology.

According to Screen Rant, Jon Hamm will return as the voice of Boba Fett, a legendary Star Wars in-universe bounty hunter. As stated above, the anthology is a collection of 40 stories, each showing the events of the original film from the perspective of supporting and background characters instead of the main cast.

Hamm, who also portrayed Fett in previous From a Certain Point of View anthologies (more on that later), also voiced Fett in various different media, including Reputation, an audiobook by author Tara Sim.

The upcoming story will provide Jon Hamm’s Fett with a perfect transition from his portrayal in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi to The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. The excerpt from Reputation shows Fett delivering carbonite-frozen Han Solo to Jabba the Hutt.

It also plants the seeds for Fett’s ascension to crime lord as seen in The Book of Boba Fett series, but also makes Fett reflect upon the fact that he’s nothing more than Jabba’s hired hand, despite investing years of hard work building his reputation. In fact, he even imagines sitting on Jabba’s throne.

And that’s precisely what happens in The Book of Boba Fett, with the eponymous character becoming an honorable crime lord. Jon Hamm’s portrayal of Fett in From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi is pretty much set in stone, but Fett’s fate as one of Star Wars fandom’s favorite characters remains unclear for the time being.

The Future Of The Book Of Boba Fett

Some reports suggest that Lucasfilm has no plans for the second season of The Book of Boba Fett, which casts doubt on whether the legendary bounty hunter might come back in any major capacity in upcoming mainline releases.

Other reports suggest that Boba Fett will be featured in the upcoming Season Four of The Mandalorian in a limited capacity. However, none of these reports were officially confirmed by Lucasfilm, so we suggest ingesting this information with a grain of salt, at least for now.

There will be plenty of other releases, including the upcoming From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi, where the audiences will have the opportunity to encounter Star Wars’ fan-favorite anti-hero, voiced by Jon Hamm.

Previous films, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, have also received their own anthologies in 2017 and 2020, respectively, with Jon Hamm voicing Fett in Star Wars stories such as “Added Muscle” and “Wait for It.”

From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi Release Date

These stories and anthologies are fun celebrations of the original films that add more weight to support and background characters while also creating a meaningful connection between various Star Wars media. From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi is scheduled to release on August 29.
