JFK Assassination Solved By Iconic ’80s Director? Here’s His Proof

By Robert Scucci | Updated

Legendary Stand by Me director Rob Reiner has a new podcast that takes a deep dive into the JFK assassination.. The podcast, aptly titled Who Killed JFK?, is available on iHeart Media. Reiner’s primary goal with the podcast is to separate all of the facts from the misinformation that’s out there about the JFK assassination, and he’s working with journalist Soledad O’Brien to lay it all out for the listening audience.

By establishing context and compiling all of the information into a single reference point, Reiner hopes to offer some closure to the mystery that has baffled historians and US citizens alike.

The JFK assassination was a crucial moment in US history that traumatized the entire nation, marking both a loss of innocence and trust of the government. Hundreds, if not thousands of conspiracy theories have materialized over the decades, and Rob Reiner is using his podcast to address every angle so he can tell a cohesive story in an attempt to bring the truth to the surface.

By approaching the JFK assassination like a detective, Reiner asserts that no stone will be left unturned. Throughout the 10-episode run, he will examine who had the motive to murder the 35th president, the forensics involved, and the historical context in which the assassination occurred.

It was widely believed that Oswald worked alone, but when people started considering the facts as they were laid out in the Warren Commission, the narrative stopped making sense.

Reiner suggests that the future of our struggling democracy is contingent on our citizens trusting our government, and asserts that the fervent distrust of our government has hit a critical point that needs to be addressed if we want to continue to self-govern.

One of the biggest points of contention surrounding the JFK assassination involves the notion of a lone gunman, Lee Harvey Oswald. At the time of the assassination, it was widely believed that Oswald worked alone, but when people started considering the facts as they were laid out in the Warren Commission, the narrative stopped making sense.

He raises the question of how a trained assassin could not only miss the president with his first shot, but not even come close to hitting his intended target.

Having worked with Secret Service agents, CIA agents, and forensic experts, Reiner agrees that there is an underlying conspiracy that has not been fully realized, and intends to establish connections between the CIA and Lee Harvey Oswald to outline what actually transpired on November 2022 1963.

Reiner also asserts that it’s highly unlikely that a trained marksman like Oswald would completely miss JFK’s motorcade like reports of the assassination suggest. He raises the question of how a trained assassin could not only miss the president with his first shot, but not even come close to hitting his intended target. This fact, as well as the single-bullet theory, will be unpacked throughout the podcast’s run.

But the JFK assassination is just the tip of the iceberg, according to Reiner. Through his wholehearted attempt to uncover the mystery of JFK’s assassination, the Princess Bride director hopes that we can come to grips with how we have been misled by our government in the past, and learn from our mistakes. In his mind, if we can re-establish the truth based on the incontrovertible facts as presented on the podcast, then we can begin the healing process, and start to reclaim a democracy that’s based on truth and transparency rather than deceit.
