Long before Jeopardy‘s Mayim Bialik took the stage of the Alex Trebek theater to deliver show stopping answers for brainy audiences around the globe, she starred in a series of sitcoms such as The Big Bang Theory, Webster, and Blossom. According to IMDb, the star’s career in television dates back to 1987’s live action Beauty and the Beast, which the then 12 year old actor worked on alongside Ron Perlman. Given that many audiences have tuned in to spend various half-hour chunks of their life watching Bialik light up the screen, it should come as no surprise that one of the latest Jeopardy contestants has confessed his love for her, as seen on a video circulating Twitter.

The contestant in question, Dan Oxman from South Orange, New Jersey, explained during the filming of Wednesday’s episode that he admired the star during his teenage years. The Jeopardy contestant then elaborated the source of his continued infatuation, citing Mayim Bialik’s penchant for portraying genius scientists on television, in conjunction with her status as a real life scientist with a doctorate in Neuroscience from UCLA. Bialik played the character Amy Farrah Fowler on CBS’s The Big Bang Theory from 2010 to 2019, whose profession in the field of neuroscience is lightly based on her lived experience.

In the video, Oxman caps his confession with a flirtatious comment, “You haven’t aged a day” presumably shooting his shot with the quiz show host. Though the Jeopardy love confession is a few weeks late for Valentine’s Day, and Mayim Bialik seemed a bit perturbed at first, the host eventually laughed it off, and agreed to take a series of silly photos with her admirer during a commercial break. The responses on Twitter are mixed, with some fans finding the comments creepy and off-putting and others finding the interaction quite charming.

Of course, the official Jeopardy Twitter account, which touts over 351,000 followers and a $1,000 per month golden verification badge would likely not have aired the interaction without Mayim Bialik’s blessing, so we can assume the comments were all made in good fun. Fans of Bialik’s acting talent will likely be delighted to catch her starring in the series Call Me Kat, which is currently airing its third season on Fox. The sitcom star will also feature in an upcoming Dr. Who inspired film, The Inspector Chronicles, which looks to be pulled directly from the DVR of Community‘s Abed Nadir.

As for Dan Oxman of South Orange, New Jersey, this tournament serves as his second time on the show, after first appearing alongside the late Alex Trebek in 2018. Oxman is returning as part of the Jeopardy High School Reunion Tournament, which Mayim Bialik is hosting. When Oxman last appeared on the show, he won $5,000 as a teen tournament quarterfinalist, appearing alongside a group of other young students.

This interaction just goes to show that anything can happen on the esteemed Jeopardy stage, a lesson which Mayim Bialik continues to learn during her tumultuous hosting run. We just hope that next time a contestant confesses their love for the host, they do it in the form of a question.
