Vin Diesel Creepy

Ferris Bueller once reminded us that life comes at us pretty fast; unfortunately for Vin Diesel, it looks like life is coming at him fast and furious. Recently, the star has been sued for sexual battery by an assistant that he worked with during the production of Fast Five. In the wake of this lawsuit, an old video has resurfaced showing Vin Diesel being as creepy as humanly possible to a Brazilian YouTuber while she is trying to interview him about his role in XXX: Return of Xander Cage.

A major part of what makes the video so strange and off-putting is that Vin Diesel wastes no time making things weird. This isn’t a case where critics have cherry-picked a comment or two and taken things out of context: the star almost immediately begins complaining that it will be impossible to do this interview because his interviewer is “so beautiful.” At times, he would even look off-camera to address either the cameraman or the audience, asking for validation: “Am I right or wrong?” he asks, apparently indifferent to the lack of any real response.

This would have been strange enough if Vin Diesel simply began the interview like this and quickly settled into a more professional mode. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen: even as she kept trying to steer things back to the intended subject matter, the actor would interject with phrases like “talk to me, baby.” Eventually, he goes so far as to claim that her good looks will keep him from successfully completing the interview and stands up to quit doing it.

Man, she’s so f****** sexy,” Vin Diesel says at one point before proclaiming, “I can’t do this interview.” At this point, she laughs, but it’s painfully obvious that she is nervous and trying to play along with her celebrity subject. Speaking of playing, she tried to bond with the actor over their mutual love for the beloved roleplaying game Dungeons & Dragons, but Vin Diesel apparently put no stats into charisma considering that he blurted out “I’m anything like you because I love you.”

Making matters somehow even worse, Vin Diesel eventually proclaims that this is not “a joke” and that he is genuinely “in love with the interviewer!” In a later apology, Vin Diesel would claim that he just wanted to have a playful interview that partially channeled the spirit of his XXX character Xander Cage. He also posted the video in its entirety, and to his credit, his creepiness is a lot less noticeable in this video which is 10 minutes longer.

However, this doesn’t change the fact that the poor woman trying to interview him would later clarify that she didn’t like his antics and that he was making her uncomfortable. That discomfort is easily apparent if you watch the video closely and observe her nervous body language. Unfortunately for Vin Diesel, the creepy video makes him look that much worse amid his ongoing legal drama, and in the court of public opinion (or at least, of social media), many fans are already reevaluating how they feel about this Fast and Furious star and Hollywood icon.
