There’s no denying it – Tricia Helfer is having a renaissance. Although she may be best known for her role in Battlestar Galactica, the actress has been catching the eyes of her social media followers where she’s been posting everything from sporting event appearances at the Kentucky Derby to evenings alone skinny dipping in her hot tub. It seems as though the star was at it again over the weekend as she modeled a black bikini in an Instagram post which you can see below.
Basking in the rays of a little Sunday Funday, Tricia Helfer looks like she’s having a wonderful and relaxing time while cooling off in a pool. Donning a skimpy black bikini, the actress shows off her toned physique while flashing a big smile for the camera. Giving her audience more of a look into her life, Helfer notes in her caption that the pool time was well-deserved after spending a very busy day in the garden with more planting to come.
Rising to fame as Cylon Number 6 in the rebooted Battlestar Galactica series of the early aughts, Tricia Helfer’s name is synonymous with the series that also starred the likes of Edward James Olmos, Katee Sackhoff, Mary McDonnell, Grace Park, Jamie Bamber, James Callis, and Michael Hogan. A staple in the sci-fi community, the series was a well-deserved comeback from the original 1978 one-season production.
Following her time in the Battlestar Galactica universe, which included spin-offs such as Battlestar Galactica: Razor and Battlestar Galactica: The Plan, Tricia Helfer would go on to appear in one-off parts in titles including The Super Hero Squad Show, Lie to Me, Supernatural, Community, and Key & Peele. She also found success in leading roles in fan-favorite series including Killer Women, Lucifer, Burn Notice, Powers, and Van Helsing.
Always down to support a good cause, much of Tricia Helfer’s time has recently been taken up as an advocate for PETA and several other charity organizations. Alongside her Battlestar Galactica co-star and The Mandalorian regular Katee Sackhoff, the duo has started their own charity called “Acting Outlaws” which supports a variety of groups.
As for where fans can spot Tricia Helfer next beyond the pages of social media, the star most recently appeared in Jeff Baena and Alison Brie’s Spin Me Round. If you missed the dark comedy in the theater, it’s streaming alongside other favorites on AMC+. A star-studded title, the movie also features performances from Aubrey Plaza, Fred Armisen, Alessandro Nivola, and Debby Ryan.
While we’re holding our breath and hoping that Tricia Helfer’s BSG bestie Katee Sackhoff will help get her a job on a Star Wars offshoot, we do know that she’ll soon be appearing in the sci-fi production Occupation Rainfall: Chapter 2. A sequel to 2020’s Occupation: Rainfall, the Australian film will pick up following the events that saw a cast including Ken Jeong and Jason Isaacs fighting off a deadly infiltration of aliens. As of right now, no release date has been set but Isaacs is signed on to return alongside Helfer and Danny Trejo.
