Hugh Jackman Releases Killer Workout Video After Becoming Single

Good news, ladies, gentlemen, and everyone else with a pulse. Hugh Jackman is back on the market, and if his recent Instagram post is any indication, well on his way back to Wolverine levels of beefcake buffness. The newly single Aussie heartthrob/mutant butt-kicker uploaded a video of himself working out yesterday set to the soothing tones of AC/DC, and it’s quite the clip!

In the video, Hugh Jackman—or should we say Hugh Jacked-man—can be seen lifting some comically large weights effortlessly as if they were Squishmallows. The 55-year-old can be seen in the clip pumping iron in time with the AC/DC hard rock classic “Thunderstruck.” The only thing keeping the video from being the most Australian thing ever is a poster of Bluey on the Gym wall.

Hugh Jackman’s workout video comes less than two months after he and his wife of 27 years, Deborra-Lee Furness, announced that they were calling it quits.

Jackman captioned the Instagram post “LFG,” an abbreviation for the popular internet rallying cry of “Let’s F***ing Gooooo!” The Greatest Showman star followed that up with the hashtag #becomingwolverineagain and a second “again” in parenthesis. We can only assume that now that the SAG-AFTRA strike is finally over, Hugh Jackman is hitting the gym to once again transform his body into a ridiculously ripped powerhouse for his return to the Wolverine role in Deadpool 3.

The actor, along with Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds, was forced to halt the production of the third Deadpool film for several months due to the strike. We can assume that the notoriously fit Hugh Jackman didn’t exactly let himself go during the hiatus, but he also probably wasn’t torturing his body to the extent that the Wolverine role calls for either.

Deadpool 3 will be the 10th time Hugh Jackman has played the character of Wolverine.

Hugh Jackman’s workout video comes less than two months after he and his wife of 27 years, Deborra-Lee Furness, announced that they were calling it quits. The couple put out a joint statement in September where they declared their journey was “shifting” and that they had decided mutually to “pursue our individual growth.” For Jackman, it appears that individual growth comes in the form of new veins popping out on his neck every time he lifts weights the size of car tires.

Meanwhile, Deadpool 3 recently moved its release date from May 2024 to July 2024 to account for delays caused by the strike. The later release date, while disappointing to Deadpool fans, at least gives Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds time to get swole for all the new scenes that have to be shot. Director Shawn Levy revealed that Deadpool 3 had been 35 days into production when SAG went on strike or “exactly halfway through filming.”

That means that there are at least 35 shooting days left until the movie is complete, and that’s not taking into account any reshoots that the movie might require. It looks like Hugh Jackman’s little fitness routine was just a teaser as the actor will have to maintain his inhuman physique for quite a while yet.

According to IMDb Deadpool 3 will be the 10th time Hugh Jackman has played the character of Wolverine. The actor was supposedly done after Logan (2017), but somehow Ryan Reynolds convinced Jackman to un-retire the character for one last adventure. Whether next year’s Deadpool 3 will actually be Hugh Jackman’s final time with the claws remains to be seen.
