The Instagram account of Brie Larson is always an interesting thing to browse through. More often than not, you will find the Captain Marvel star detailing her workout routine and dispensing physical training advice. Then again, you might find her tucking into a delicious bowl of…leaves? Or you might just see her casually doing some yoga in the middle of the street in Cornwall, England. But given that she is also a very glamorous and Academy Award-winning actor, there’s also a decent chance you will see her in a stunning, electric blue sequinned dress.

Brie Larson is rapidly becoming as famous for her quirky sense of humor on social media as she is for her acting. Her early acting career began with notable roles in TV shows like the WB sitcom Raising Dad, which also starred the late Bob Saget. She moved into more dramatic roles by co-starring on the Toni Collette show United States of Tara (which was created by writer/director Diablo Cody). Larson also had a notable role doing cosplay of Canadian indie rock group Metric’s Emily Haines in Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, then in 2012’s 21 Jump Street with Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. Her Academy Award-winning turn in 2015’s kidnapping psychological drama Room brought her to the next level, which was capped off by her being cast as Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The first Captain Marvel film brought in over a billion dollars at the box office and was notable for being the first female-led Marvel Cinematic Universe film. Despite (or possibly because of) that, Brie Larson was criticized in some circles for championing a greater push for diversity and inclusion in Hollywood, as well as her vocal support of sexual assault survivors. Disney and Marvel Studios certainly do not seem to have a problem with it. Not only did she reportedly receive increased salary and billing in future MCU movies, Larson is also going to be starring in a non-scripted show for the streaming Disney+ platform. That show, titled Growing Up, is reportedly going to be a 10 episode docuseries on a number of different true life stories.

Her next upcoming MCU film was initially titled Captain Marvel 2, but has recently been retitled The Marvels. This is presumably to reflect Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers being joined by Ms. Marvel, Kamala Khan (who will be portrayed by actor Iman Vellani and introduced on a Disney+ show). Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau will also co-star in the movie. Larson has also been recently criticized for her involvement in the controversial NFT market, which is interesting considering that it is an overwhelming topic of conversation and promotion by many celebrities and business moguls. But it does sometimes seem like Larson quickly becomes a target of heated discussion when pretty much any topic comes up. But at least for now, let us all just try to enjoy the workout tips and the shiny dresses.
