If you have been following Brie Larson’s social media, then you know she is a source of impressive and sometimes confusing content. Larson’s sunny personality lends well to her health and wellness brand. Typically her Instagram is full of awe-inspiring training videos where she dispenses training advice. But the actor can have fun as well. In a recent post, Larson showed off a strange meal with little explanation.
Brie Larson posted a picture on Instagram of her face diving into a mug of wet leaves with the caption “who said food can’t be fun?” Though the question of if leaves count as food is up for debate, there is no question that the actor loves to have a good time. Her Instagram of over 6 million followers proves that she is doing something right. This may have to do with her feats of strength she demonstrates in her role as Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel.
In comic book canon, Captain Marvel is one of the strongest super-powered people and is not to be trifled with. With powers matching those of Superman, CBR even considered what it would be like if the two fought. While Henry Cavill was bulking up for his iteration as the Man of Steel, Brie Larson was doing the same (via Cinema Blend). Larson has shown on social media her intensive CrossFit training. She has even gone so far to demonstrate her real life strength that she was able to push a 5,000 pound Jeep just by herself (via Harper’s Bazaar). There is no question that the actor has earned her place as Captain Marvel.
Carol Danvers has appeared in her solo movie, Avengers: Endgame, and is currently filming the follow up to Captain Marvel. Captain Marvel 2 will be entitled The Marvels and be directed by Nia DaCosta. DaCosta is relatively new on the scene, but impressed audiences with the sequel to Candyman (via comicbook.com). The film was socially nuanced, an element that she can bring to Captain Marvel 2. Unfortunately for fans, Captain Marvel 2 has been delayed yet again until 2023, but the reported story seems like it will be worth the wait. Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel will be joining forces with her old friend Maria’s daughter, Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). First seen as an adult in Disney’s WandaVision, Captain Marvel will see Monica not only grown up but with powers of her own. They will be joined by Kamala Kahn, a young super hero who goes by the moniker Ms. Marvel.
Brie Larson has been full steam ahead for the past couple of years, but that is familiar territory for the actor. Before she played a superhero, Larson had been in the entertainment industry as a teenager (via Nerdist). First she was a burgeoning pop star which she transferred to her role in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. She starred in a myriad of acclaimed films such as Short Term 12 before landing an Academy Award win as the role of Ma in Room (via The Guardian). The Oscar win opened many doors for her and should continue to do so even after Captain Marvel.
