You never know what you’re going to get with biopics. You could get something that really shows you a historic figure and all their flaws or you could get something more esoteric that just paints a picture. Sometimes it’s a straight-up swing and a miss. But it seems like the upcoming Elvis hits all the right notes. And who better to say so than Elvis’s own daughter? Lisa Presley recently took to Twitter to express her opinion on the biopic about her father and the review is nothing short of glowing. Check out the Tweet below:

Not only does Lisa Presley have high praise for the movie, but she also thinks that Austin Butler has a chance to win the Oscar for his portrayal of the rock n’ roll superstar. Austin Butler has to feel pretty good right now knowing that Elvis’s daughter thinks that his performance is not only accurate but award worthy. Lisa is the only daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, and she was quite young when Elvis passed away. For her part, Priscilla Presley also had high praise for the movie. In a Facebook post following a private screening, she said the story was told “brilliantly” and “creatively” and that Austin Butler is “outstanding.” When you have both Elvis’s mother and daughter agreeing that your movie is fantastic, you might have a winner on your hands.

You won’t have to wait long to see if you agree with Lisa Presley’s high praise. Elvis is set to come out on June 24. The movie will follow the life of Elvis Presley, particularly his relationship with his manager Colonel Tom Parker. Tom Hanks is filling the role of Colonel Tom, so it’s safe to assume he’ll bring his usual gravitas and talent to the role. Austin Butler apparently beat out a lot of talented people to nab the role of Elvis, so it’s not too surprising that his performance is being so highly praised. Other actors in talks for the role included Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Harry Styles. This could truly be a star-making role for Butler. He’s been on a variety of TV series and had small roles in some recent movies, notably Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. But none of his roles have been a leading man in a big-budget blockbuster. it seems like the goodwill from Elvis is already bringing his career to the next level, as he was also recently announced as the important role of Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen in Dune: Part Two.

Priscilla and Lisa Presley had high praise for director Baz Luhrmann for bringing the film to life as well. This is Luhrmann’s first feature film since 2013’s The Great Gatsby, and it looks like it will be an amazing return for the director. Luhrmann also wrote the screenplay with Sam Bromell and Craig Pearce. Alongside Butler and Hanks, Elvis also stars Olivia DeJonge, Dacre Montgomery, David Wenham, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Luke Bracey, Richard Roxburgh, Xavier Samuel, Kelvin Harrison Jr, and more.
