Watch What Happens When Star Wars And Star Trek Clash

There has been a great deal of time over the years devoted to the what-if scenario, what if Star Wars met Star Trek? If you’re in the mood, you can Google enough fan fiction in this realm to fill your reading list from now until the day you die. But just in case you’re not in the frame of mind to read, you can check always out this awesome new fan made video.

While fans have been debating one versus the other of these venerable, beloved franchises for years, this trailer from Alex Luthor does an incredible job of showing you exactly what this could look like on the big screen, and it’s just as great as you hoped. This should be more than enough to get you’re hands clapping and get you gibbering like a simple-minded idiot, it’s that much fun.

The editing job here is truly impressive. Luthor combines images from various Star Wars films with footage from the new Star Trek movies (if you’re opposed to those offerings for any reason, this might not hit the spot as much for you). He splices them together in new, clever ways, so it looks like there are TIE Fighters strafing the Enterprise, or Scotty (Simon Pegg) is approaching Death Star in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon, or that the Death Star is approaching Vulcan and Earth with destructive intent.

And you have to love the Emperor turning in his chair only to be faced by Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk. That might be my favorite moment in this whole video.

Star Wars Vs. Star Trek is one of those proposed clashes of titles that is up there with Batman fighting Superman (which we’re actually going to see on screen soonish), or Marvel crossing over with DC. It’s never going to happen, but that’s not going to stop anyone from thinking about it and drooling. God, how much fun would it be to see the Enterprise go after a Star Destroyer? Well, if you’ve ever wanted to see that happen, this video is just what you’re looking for.
