Disney Princess Leia Justifies Disney’s Lucasfilm Purchase

Over the past week since the announcement of Disney acquiring Lucasfilm, there have been numerous Star Wars/Disney character mash-ups popping up all over the Internet. It’s probably never going to stop, but one of the better ones out there is this video of Princess Leia meeting the Disney Princesses. After all, Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan is now one of them.
This video is great! It was made by AV Byte, the same people responsible for “The Walking Dead: The Musical,” “Doctor Who: The Musical,” and “Hipster Disney Princesses,” so “Disney Princess Leia” fits perfectly in their wheelhouse.
Ever since Disney bought Lucasfilm, the Princess Leia/Disney Princesses Internet meme has been a standout. Once of the better moments in this video is when Belle says, “Hello little friend” to R2-D2, because that’s exactly what she says to ottoman/dog in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. But there is no doubt: Princess Leia fits in with the Disney Princesses.
The music in the video is also great and perfectly fits the grand tradition of old fashioned Broadway musicals. It’s wonderful and it brings all of the elements in the video together. It’s super catchy and ready for download on AV Byte’s Bandcamp.com page.
