Sydney Sweeney Stuns In Spider-Women Poster For Madame Web
Sydney Sweeney is kicking off the year right as the up-and-coming star’s latest feature, Anyone But You, is heating up at the box office, quickly surpassing its expectations. While it’s great to see the young actress find success in the world of rom coms, it’s another 2024 film that we can’t wait to see her in. Arriving on February 14, 2024, Sweeney will be spotted alongside a stacked cast in Madame Web, and a new poster is giving us a closer look at her character, Julia Carpenter aka Spider-Woman.
The New Madame Web Poster
Surrounded by the rest of her co-stars, Sydney Sweeney can be seen standing proudly with her right arm extended in the Chinese poster for Sony Pictures’ latest Marvel film. The costume team chose to stay close to the comic depiction of the character, giving Sweeney a navy blue, almost black, suit with white markings. While we can’t see the center of it, in the comics, the suit has a spider design pressed onto the chest, and it looks like that’s what can be expected when all is revealed next month.
Hiding her face (not really) is a mask that certainly won’t do much to keep her identity hidden from those who know her best. This is especially true considering the character’s flowing red hair which would be a real eye-catcher and tip-off for any close friends or loved ones. Nevertheless, Sydney Sweeney completely rocks the suit and shows off her take on the long-awaited arrival of Julia Carpenter.
The Ladies Of Madame Web Front And Center
As for the rest of the poster, Dakota Johnson, Celeste O’Connor, and Isabela Merced surround Sydney Sweeney completely decked out in their Spider-gear as well. The costuming team certainly had their hands full for Madame Web as each of the fits showcases a different bit of flair, setting each woman apart from the other. Demonstrating that Johnson’s Cassie Webb is the leader of the pack, she stands at the top center, wearing no mask, and is made to look a little bit bigger than the other women.
Dakota Johnson Leads Madame Web
In Madame Web, audiences will meet a new string of female superheroes led by Dakota Johnson’s Cassandra “Cassie” Webb. An EMT, Cassie’s world is turned upside down when a near-death experience gives her psychic and superhuman abilities. Shortly after discovering her new set of skills, her world inexplicably collides with three other young women (Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced), all of whom are the targets of the villainous Ezekiel Sims (Tahar Rahim).
The Rest Of The Cast
Aside from Sydney Sweeney and the rest of the women portraying the quartet of superheroes, Madame Web also stars Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation), Zosia Mamet (Girls), Mike Epps (the Friday franchise), and Emma Roberts (American Horror Story). The feature is directed by S.J. Clarkson, who has been previously attached to such television titles as Orange is the New Black, Anatomy of a Scandal, and Bates Motel.
Madame Web’s Release Date
With Madame Web swinging into theaters in just about a month, we can expect more teasers, posters, and featurettes to arrive, bolstering more of the storyline and its characters.
