Woody Harrelson is not wasting any time after appearing in the action comedy, The Man From Toronto, as he is set to appear in a much different film. Harrelson will be captain of a yacht in what appears to be a dark comedy film that has plenty of social commentary on the rich socialites living in our world. The film is called Triangle of Sadness, and from the trailer alone, things seem to go from bad to worse for everyone on board this ship. For those who might have weaker stomachs, beware of this trailer. You can see the trailer below:

The film starts with a hilarious group of young men showcasing their best model looks for both H&M and Balenciaga. We are then treated to the hodgepodge of different wealthy families aboard a luxurious yacht. The staff is even roped into some odd situations, as one must jump into a jacuzzi at the behest of a guest staying on the yacht. We then get to see Woody Harrelson, as he looks like a grizzled captain that has given up on caring about his duties. That is when things get weird, as the boat begins to lean drastically. People begin to discharge bodily fluids, as everyone seems to ignore the fact they might be sinking. It appears that the crew and passengers will also be stranded on an island at some point too.

Triangle of Sadness was written and directed by Ruben Östlund. The film received the Palm d’Or honors at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, which means that it is likely going to be enjoyed by a great many people. That might be an understatement, as any film with Woody Harrelson is enjoyable. Östlund famously wrote and directed Force Majeure and The Square. Force Majeure was critically acclaimed and was made into an English remake called Downhill. The remake starred Will Ferrel and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The Square also won the Palm d’Or.

Neon has produced Triangle of Sadness, which is the third film in a row that the production company has that won the Palm d’Or honors at Cannes. The films that preceded Triangle of Sadness are Titane and Parasite. Parasite would go on to win the Best Picture award at the Academy Awards. Neon clearly knows what it is doing when selecting which films to back up. Triangle of Sadness could be the next film in line to be showered with praise from both critics and audiences alike. Joining Woody Harrelson in the film are Thobias Thorwid, Harris Dickinson, Timoleon Gketsos, Vicki Berlin, Zlatko Buric, and many more.

Triangle of Sadness will be debuting at the Toronto Film Festival in September, before landing in North America on October 7th. We are not entirely sure if this is true, but the triangle in the film’s title could be referring to the Bermuda Triangle. That could be why the ship begins to capsize so quickly, though everyone seems unfazed in the trailer. Either way, the film looks hilarious, as does Woody Harrelson. We can’t wait to see this one.
