The movie will reveal a twist of the occult, as the FBI agent draws ever nearer to revealing the true identity of Longlegs. With any luck, the film will have the same vibe as the best parts of True Detective, Se7en, and Silence of the Lambs, all rolled into one.

Perkins also appeared as an actor in Peele’s 2022 film Nope, strengthening the continued bond between the auteur horror filmmakers. Nicolas Cage has become something of a horror icon in his own right in recent years, having starred in horror installments such as Arcadian, Renfield, and Willy’s Wonderland before signing on to star in Longlegs.

According to Perkins, Longlegs will be a modern psychological thriller in the vein of classic American works of the mid 20th century.
