Mayim Bialik will be hosting the upcoming spin-off, Celebrity Jeopardy!, which will be a primetime game show featuring some all-star contestants, as well as a brand new round to the game altogether. The series will include a new Triple Jeopardy! round, which is a first for any iteration of the long-running game show in its 39-year run. Similar to its counterparts earlier in the standard game called Single Jeopardy! and Double Jeopardy!, the new Triple Jeopardy! round will showcase six categories containing five clues in each category.

According to Parade, the special part about this new Triple Jeopardy! round is that there will be three Daily Doubles that are hidden throughout the game board, more than any other round in the history of the show so far. This new round is meant to test contestants even further, and Mayim Bialik teased that challenge in the promo for the new change.

After the death of Alex Trebek in 2020, the producers at Jeopardy! led an exhaustive search for replacement options that could possibly fill the shoes of the longtime host. After a disastrous attempt with Wheel of Fortune producer Mike Richards in the role of host, former champion and fan-favorite Ken Jennings and actor Mayim Bialik have been concurrently hosting Jeopardy! ever since, including some of its more relevant spin-offs.

As Mayim Bialik prepares to host the updated version of Celebrity Jeopardy!, where celebrities will compete to win a $1 million grand prize that will end up going to the charity of their choice, the selection of contestants has also been revealed before the show premieres. Competing on the game show will be Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu, Crazy Rich Asians actor Constance Wu, comedian Iliza Shlesinger, Everybody Loves Raymond and television icon Ray Romano, talk show host Aisha Tyler, The Goldbergs actor Patton Oswalt, Arrested Development’s Michael Cera, The Office writer and actor B.J. Novak, and WNBA player Candace Parker. The all-new primetime quiz spin-off of Jeopardy! is set to debut on September 25th on ABC, promising to be a star-studded event featuring some familiar faces.

Prior to Mayim Bialik’s work hosting Jeopardy! and the upcoming Celebrity Jeopardy! primetime events, the child actor was well-known for starring as the titular character on the NBC sitcom Blossom for five seasons. She went on to join the cast of the hit CBS series The Big Bang Theory several seasons into its production, alongside famous names like Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, and Johnny Galecki. For her role as resident neuroscientist Amy Farrah Fowler, Mayim Bialik was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series four times, failing to pick up a trophy for her performance.

Mayim Bialik hosts Celebrity Jeopardy!, but she is also set to stay on as a permanent host for the popular quiz game show, splitting time with Ken Jennings. She is also currently pulling double duty as the star and producer of her own sitcom entitled Call Me Kat. Call Me Kat was renewed for a third season that will also premiere later this month.
