Fans of Dave Filoni’s Clone Wars animated series were feeling pretty vindicated on last Tuesday’s new episode of Ahsoka when she finally met again with her former Master, Anakin Skywalker. Hayden Christensen returned to reprise the role of Anakin from the prequel films, and Ariana Greenblatt filled in for the younger version of Ahsoka. The two’s Master and Padawan chemistry was undeniable, and it got fans hopeful that the two might be brought back for a Star Wars: The Clone Wars live-action series.

After seeing Hayden Christensen return as Anakin Skywalker and Ariana Greenblatt as a younger live-action Ahsoka, fans want them in a live-action The Clone Wars series and the actors seem ready!

Apparently, Hayden Christensen and Ariana Greenblatt are also game to reprise their roles again in a Star Wars: The Clone Wars series, as Greenblatt herself replied to a Tweet from a fan who brought up the idea. While it’s cool to learn that both Christensen and Greenblatt have talked about the possibility, that is far from a green light from the House of Mouse itself.

There are still numerous unaired episodes of The Clone Wars that never saw the light of day. These could easily be adapted to live action if there was enough interest from fans (which there is).

Still, it seems like Disney would be really missing out on some fan goodwill if they don’t find a way to bring these two back together again in the future.

Matt Lanter and Ashley Eckstein voiced the roles of Anakin and Ahsoka respectively in the animated Clone Wars series, and their relationship as Master and Padawan was easily one of the biggest highlights of the show.

The fact that Hayden Christensen and Ariana Greenblatt were able to easily recreate this relationship in live-action is proof that we need more Star Wars content with these two in them. Especially if Ewan McGregor would be down to return to a Clone Wars live-action series as Obi-Wan Kenobi.

It was awesome to see Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan face off with Hayden Christensen’s Darth Vader in Obi-Wan Kenobi. People would undoubtedly be even more ecstatic to watch a series that reunited Obi-Wan and Anakin as he was in the Star Wars prequels, when the two were actually friends. Add Ariana Greenblatt’s fantastic take on Ahsoka and you easily have a winning formula for a new Disney+ series.

There are a ton of ways that Dave Filoni could bring back Hayden Christensen and Ariana Greenblatt for a Star Wars: The Clone Wars live-action series. There are still numerous unaired episodes of The Clone Wars that never saw the light of day. These could easily be adapted to live action if there was enough interest from fans (which there is).

Or, Dave Filoni and George Lucas could come up with entirely new story arcs for Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan. The Clone Wars animated series showed that there was plenty of unexplored story during that era of Star Wars that the movies just didn’t have time to dive into.

Of course, it would also be awesome to see them bring back Temura Morrison as Captain Rex and the rest of the clones, as the clones often had some of the best story arcs in the series as well.

Getting Hayden Christensen, Ariana Greenblatt, and the rest of the live-action cast onboard doesn’t seem to be the problem. Star Wars fans just need to keep asking for a live-action Clone Wars series and maybe we’ll get lucky enough for Disney to listen. Until then, you can catch new episodes of Ahsoka on Disney+ on Tuesdays.
