In Last Seen Alive, we meet Gerard Butler’s character Will Spann, who is on a road trip with his wife, Lisa (Jaimie Alexander) to visit her parents. Along the way, the couple stops for a break and to fuel up at a gas station. While Will pumps the gas, Lisa goes into the station but when she comes out, she gets out of Will’s eyesight and disappears.
Frantically searching for his wife, we come to discover that the pair had hit rough waters in their marriage, with Lisa pushing for a trial separation. Because of this, Will is at the top of the suspect list, but with a heart full of love for his wife, he’ll stop at nothing to track down the people responsible for her kidnapping and, hopefully, find her alive. Like many of Gerard Butler’s other features, Last Seen Alive is filled with gunfights and explosions as the main character strikes down any baddie standing in his way.
Along with Gerard Butler and Jaimie Alexander, Last Seen Alive also featured the talents of Russell Hornsby (In Treatment), Ethan Embry (Can’t Hardly Wait), Bruce Altman (Fifty Shades Darker), Michael Irby (Mayans M.C.), and Cindy Hogan.
The film serves as Brian Goodman’s sophomore directorial effort following 2017’s Black Butterfly which starred Antonio Banderas and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. A man of talent on both sides of the camera, Goodman has been previously featured in a slew of movies and television shows including Mark Ruffalo’s Sympathy for Delicious, Justin Lin’s Annapolis, John Shea’s Southie, Line of Fire, Rizzoli & Isles, and Castle.

With a mixed reception from critics, the Gerard Butler-led film currently holds a 13 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
