The Book of Boba Fett is going to tell the full story, the full book, of the famed bounty hunter’s life. While that sounds promising, it doesn’t tell us a lot about what we’ll see from the upcoming Star Wars series on Disney+. Fortunately, thanks to work from one of our trusted and proven inside sources, we now know new details about what we’ll see in the series: a massive Mandalorian battle.

We’ve learned that the Disney+ series has over 30 extras to play Mandalorians for the battle scene in The Book of Boba Fett. The Mandalorians will fight the feared bounty hunter in this massive fight. Later, they will be joined with him to fight an enemy force. This scene will be happening on a white desert planet, though our source wasn’t able to share where exactly. When we last saw Boba Fett at the end of season two of The Mandalorian, he was at Jabba’s Palace, looking like he’d taken over the criminal empire.

While we don’t know what Boba Fett’s goals are in the future, this battle scene for The Book of Boba Fett makes it sound like he’s going to continue working toward gaining a force on his side. It makes us wonder if he’s had plans for a while that will bring him to fighting an enemy force with the Mandalorians he’ll be gaining on his side after he fights them. Could some of this call back to whatever happened when he mysteriously survived the sarlacc pit on Tatooine? It sounds like we’ll learn details from his past that will bring us to fighting this enemy force, possibly toward the end of the season.

Since The Book of Boba Fett is going to tell the full story of what we don’t know about the bounty hunter’s life, it sounds like it would be fair to believe that fighting this enemy force is going to be something that pulls from the bounty hunter’s past. Fett started training at a young age, and has spent decades fighting, becoming feared, and someone who can take on 30 Mandalorians and survive. There’s a lot to still learn about his character and his motivations.

On The Bad Batch, they recently revealed that his name was originally Alpha. We know that Boba Fett is the unaltered clone of Jango Fett, a Mandalorian bounty hunter, and that Boba Fett’s armor helps him emulate his father. It could be that in The Book of Boba Fett the Mandalorians he chooses to fight in this first battle are random. While our source didn’t say that Boba Fett specifically seeks out these 30+ Mandalorians to fight and then get on his side to then bring into a fight with an enemy force, it sounds more likely that there will be personal significance to the group he chooses to fight and get on his side for this later fight.

It also sounds like the writers for Star Wars are setting up groundwork to build Boba Fett’s backstory and explain why it is that he’s going to come to want a fierce group on his side to fight this unknown enemy force. Unfortunately, we don’t yet know who the enemy force is, and it feels like that’s something that would reveal a whole lot about the plans for The Book of Boba Fett.

It’s believed that The Book of Boba Fett will be four episodes. The creators have said to think of it as The Mandalorian season 2.5. It was always important to them that this series for the bounty hunter air in between seasons two and three of The Mandalorian, which makes it sound like whatever happens in The Book of Boba Fett will have repercussions for Mandalorian season 3.
