Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming DC film Black Adam was recently delayed so the team could work on getting the special effects sharpened up, but we’re still getting some little glimpses of what to expect from the movie. Namely, the changes his suit might undergo throughout the movie’s runtime. Although we’ve had some official first looks at the suit he’ll initially appear in, there’s no rule that says his suit can’t change. Our most recent peek at some of the suit changes comes from an unexpected place — Hallmark’s ornament catalog. A Twitter user highlighted the catalog page in a Tweet, which you can check out below:

For comparison’s sake, let’s take a look at a picture of the suit we’ve seen Dwayne Johnson don up to this point:

So, while the look we see in the Black Adam ornament retains a lot of the same elements, it looks like Dwayne Johnson’s anti-hero will obtain a newer and cleaner version of his suit at some point. The suit we see in the screenshot is dirty and worn down. The arrow on his chest is barely visible in comparison with that on the ornament. This look is likely due to being imprisoned for 5,000 years. The suit in the ornament looks brand new, with the gleaming belt, golden bracers, and the lightning bolt providing a stark contrast to the all-black bodysuit. Of course, his cape is also prominently featured in the ornament.

According to Dwayne Johnson, his Black Adam is set to change the hierarchy of power in the DC Cinematic Universe. It remains to be seen just how powerful his Black Adam is going to be, but we’re going to guess it’s going to be near the top of the heroes and villains that have already appeared. Black Adam is closely tied to Shazam in the comic books, frequently appearing as his archnemesis. He even has a similar power set, as he was granted his power by the same wizard as Billy Batson. Unlike Batson however, his powers call upon the Egyptian gods instead of the Greek gods. This gives Black Adam the stamina of Shu, the speed of Heru, the strength of Amon, the wisdom of Zehuti, the power of Aton, and the courage of Menthu. Black Adam is frequently depicted as more powerful than Shazam and multiple heroes are usually needed to take him on.

This looks to be the route the movie is going. Regardless of the suit Dwayne Johnson wears, he’s set to take on the Justice Society of America. The Justice Society is comprised of Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell), and Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan). It seems like Black Adam is definitely going to have his hands full.

If you’re excited to see Dwayne Johnson and the Justice Society of America face-off, you’ll have to wait just a little bit longer. The added special effects work will push the release date to October. Unless there are more delays in store the movie should be hitting theaters on October 21, 2022. Oh, and you can grab that ornament in November if you’re looking for some super-powered tree decor.
