Disney+ Actually Streaming Hit DC Series

By Douglas Helm | Published

Typically, you would only be able to find Marvel shows and movies on Disney+. But, since there is now a Hulu section of Disney+ (albeit a beta version), you can stream one of the most popular DC shows on Disney’s streaming platforms. Streaming service rights are weird, but if you have access to both Hulu and Disney+ subscriptions, you can now stream Teen Titans Go!

Teen Titans Go! Is On Disney+

The Teen Titans have been part of DC comics since 1964, but the most popular version of the team was the group seen in the 2003 animated series Teen Titans. This version of the team includes Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, Raven, and Beast Boy. This popular series would spawn a spin-off in 2013, Teen Titans Go!

No Connection To The Original Teen Titans Series

If you were a fan of the 2003 series, it’s worth noting that Teen Titans Go! is a much different show. The 2003 show had a different style of animation that was more akin to popular DC shows like Justice League and Batman: The Animated Series (albeit with a lot more anime influence). Teen Titans Go!, on the other hand, is a comedic series with a different animation style and pretty much ignores the continuity of the first series, other than the occasional fan-service nods.

The Funniest DC Show

With that being said, if you don’t look at Teen Titans Go! as a follow-up to the 2003 show, it’s a funny and enjoyable show on its own. The series has tons of references and characters from DC comics and has some clever comedy to go with the fan service. Also, fans of the first series will appreciate that original voice actors Scott Menville, Tara Strong, Hynden Welch, Khary Payton, and Greg Cipes return to voice Robin, Raven, Starfire, Cyborg, and Beast Boy, respectively.

Eight Seasons And A Movie

Teen Titans Go! may not be as beloved by fans of the original series, but it is wildly popular. The series was so popular that it got its own movie with a theatrical release. It also has released several non-theatrical movies since then. For fans of the Titans, it’s a pretty funny, entertaining show if you’re looking for something on the sillier side of DC.

DC Animation Is Better Than Marvel’s

Despite its struggles with a live-action cinematic universe, DC has been great in the animated department. Teen Titans Go! is definitely different from DC’s usual animated fare, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad by any means. It’s especially great if you have kids looking for something goofy to watch with them.

The Future Of The Teen Titans

Of course, the existence of Teen Titans Go! doesn’t lessen fans’ desire to see the 2003 series get another season sometime in the future. But with the popularity of Go!, it makes sense that DC is content with their success. Who knows what the future of DC holds with James Gunn taking the reins, but it seems pretty unlikely that they won’t be returning to the Go! well at some point.

If you want to check out Teen Titans Go! for yourself, now is a great time to go stream it. You can check it out on the Hulu section of Disney+. Remember that you need access to both subscriptions to watch it.
