Dacre Montgomery is one of the rising young stars in Hollywood right now. After roles in Power Rangers and a surprising turn in Stranger Things, the actor has found himself cropping up in a number of rumors and fan castings. One of the most popular of these is the role of Wolverine in the mutant’s eventual inclusion into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It has gotten to the point where images of the actor in the role continue to pop up. And now, there is a pretty serious piece of art out there casting him as everyone’s favorite X-Men member.

Lauded artist BossLogic decided to take a spin at casting Dacre Montgomery as Wolverine and the result is pretty great. Check out the illustration and judge for yourself if he looks good in the role:

Dacre Montgomery does cut a good frame as Logan. It does look like the specter of Hugh Jackman weighs heavy over the character as this take feels very much inspired by the only cinematic Wolverine we have ever gotten. It will be interesting to see how the Marvel Cinematic Universe handles introducing Logan into its world. Many fans are hoping that he will finally don his iconic yellow costume once Marvel Studios gets the chance to take a swing at the character. Or will they still lean on the more grounded approach that we have seen in the X-Men series of films?

If Dacre Montgomery were to take on the role of Logan a.k.a. Wolverine, would the Marvel Cinematic Universe put the character in the center of attention or would he be relegated to more of a supporting role? Pop culture has pretty much been positioned to view Wolverine as the central and most important character in the X-Men. Will the Marvel Cinematic Universe do the same thing? In all honesty, it might be a little more fun to see Logan take a backseat to some bigger stories and different characters in the mutant ensemble. In many comics, he often plays exactly that role.

And Dacre Montgomery could excel in that arena. He has yet to showcase a strong comedic sense and it would be engaging to see Wolverine as more of a comedic relief than a somber protagonist. Though, he is not the only actor with any kind of vested interest in the role. The Boys star Antony Starr has openly said he would love to play the character and that has also led to some cool pieces of fan art. It sounds like there are a few actors who want to potentially step into Hugh Jackman’s shows. Or claws, rather.

Dacre Montgomery looks like he would bring some good energy to the role of Wolverine. But, considering that Marvel Studios has not announced any plans in regards to the X-Men, we could be waiting a long time before we see any of the mutants make their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Whoever ends up in the role of Logan, they are going to have a tough time getting compared to Hugh Jackman over and over again. Best of luck to them.
