Almost one full year since Jeremy Renner was fighting for his life after a snow plow accident almost cut his time on Earth short, the actor is showing off how much progress he’s made over the last 10 months. Taking to Instagram to give fans a look at his current fitness level, Renner shared a video of him exercising in his driveway. From side shuffles to sprints, the clip is nothing short of inspirational, considering the dire straits that Renner was in at the beginning of this year.

In his post, Jeremy Renner, who is likely best known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, celebrated his recovery in the caption. He reveals that the video shared was his “first attempt at any of this activity (especially at this steep grade),” adding that the experience of breaking a sweat and moving his body moved him to “tears of joy, hopefulness, and gratitude.”

Thanking his friends, family, and all of the fans for their undying support, the actor says that his dedicated support system has been the “fuel” that has gotten him through such a dark time in his life.

For those who may need a refresher, the incident in question took place in January of this year near Jeremy Renner’s home in Lake Tahoe. Last winter saw record snowfall for much of the West Coast, with the high elevation of Tahoe getting absolutely dumped on. A handyman with intricate know-how when using large pieces of machinery, Renner was helping his nephew clear some snow when the accident happened.

Crushed by a Sno-Cat (a type of snow removal equipment), Jeremy Renner was rushed to the hospital. Lucky to be alive, the actor was facing an incredibly difficult road to recovery. Despite all the obstacles in his way, Renner persisted day after day and month after month.

Prior to posting his big comeback video to Instagram, Jeremy Renner told fans (as per Variety) that he had undergone “every type” of therapy in the book to get back on his feet. From IV drips to stem cell procedures, hyperbaric chambers, and cold plunges, the actor was more than determined to return to his old way of life. At the end of the day, Renner revealed that it was his “mind and will” that remained his number one helper through everything, with the support of his friends, family, and fans helping him see it through.

Keeping his followers abreast with each step he was making in his recovery, Jeremy Renner was incredibly active on Instagram, giving updates on how he was moving along. Up until today’s 10-month check-in, the star’s biggest moment was likely when he walked down the red carpet with the aid of a cane at the world premiere of his Disney+ series, Rennervations, back in April.

Best known for his work in the MCU as Avengers member Hawkeye aka Clint Barton, Jeremy Renner has appeared in a slew of superhero films over the years, even receiving his own spinoff in Disney+’s aptly named series, Hawkeye. The actor is also known for his work in other shows including Mayor of Kingstown and the aforementioned Rennervations as well as films such as Wind River and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation

We’re happy to hear that Jeremy Renner is getting back on his workout routine and is making huge strides in his recovery.
