Gwyneth Paltrow celebrated her 48th birthday by getting down to her birthday suit. The celebrated actress posted a photo to her Instagram that shows her living her best life. Looks like that includes being buck naked. We support this way of celebration.
Take a look at the Instagram post and the birthday message that Gwyneth Paltrow posted on Monday:
Gwyneth Paltrow has been a fixture in the film world for two decades. However, the last decade has seen Paltrow shift her focus from acting to promoting her lifestyle brand, Goop. She even received an entire promotional television series on Netflix called The Goop Lab. There have been valid issues raised about some of the products and services that Goop puts forth. Claims of pseudoscience have dogged the brand for years but Paltrow seems unfazed by this issues.
As far as her acting career is concerned, Gwyneth Paltrow found a comfortable niche in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the last couple of years. Her role as Pepper Potts has been one of the brightest spots in the superhero franchise, but Paltrow has still found herself under fire from Marvel fans due to her real-life endeavors. When Marvel tweeted a piece extolling Pepper Potts as the best CEO in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the replies mainly focused on Paltrow and her Goop brand.
Looking back at her past achievements, Gwyneth Paltrow has had an incredibly varied career. She had a brief but memorable appearance in Steven Spielberg’s Hook as the young version of Wendy Darling. One of her first impactful roles came in the David Fincher film Se7en as Tracy, the doomed wife of Brad Pitt’s Detective David Mills. She would also find herself in adaptations of classic literary works like Great Expectations and Emma.
But, it would be Shakespeare in Love that would prove to be a turning point for Gwyneth Paltrow and her career. The romantic period film would end up nabbing seven Academy Awards, including a controversial Best Picture win and an award for Paltrow as Best Actress. Unfortunately, the legacy of Shakespeare in Love and why it won so many Oscars would end up casting a shadow over many of the talents involved with the production. Paltrow would find herself making lowest common denominator comedies like Shallow Hal just two years after her Best Actress win.
But, Gwyneth Paltrow eventually found her groove again with more artistically-motivated fare like Wes Anderson’s The Royal Tenenbaums. When she decided to take a supporting role in a superhero movie called Iron Man, she had no idea how vast and enormous a world she was really stepping into. Her role as Pepper Potts would end up becoming a vital one in the grand experiment that would come to be known as the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Gwyneth Paltrow is still going strong at the age of 48. She recently executive produced and appeared in the Netflix series The Politician and does not show any signs of slowing down. We at Giant Freakin Robot wish her a happy birthday.
