Doja Cat recently released her new single “Attention,” and the name certainly fits. Doja released some risque artwork, created by Grizz Lee, alongside the single that features the pop songstress covered head to toe in blood. Take a look at her Instagram post below to see the single artwork.

Doja Cat also released a music video for “Attention” that features her dodging rabid fans in the streets of Los Angeles. The music video was directed by Tanu Muino, who has directed music videos for Harry Styles, Cardi B, Lil Nas X, and more. Doja co-wrote her single with Y2K and Roget Chahayed, who both also produced the track. You can watch that video below.

“Attention” marks the first solo single from Doja Cat since she released “Elvis” as part of Baz Luhrman’s Elvis movie soundtrack. She also jumped on the remix of SZA’s hit song “Kill Bill” from her SOS album, making the massive song an even bigger hit.

Doja previously collaborated with SZA on “Kiss Me More,” which became the longest-running all-female top 10 hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 and won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

With Doja Cat finally dropping a single for her upcoming fourth album, it seems like the release of that album is closer than ever. While Doja previously teased that the album may be titled First of All, she has since stated that the name of the album will be changing. She has also said this will be a more rap-heavy album, and “Attention” definitely backs that statement up.

The last album we heard from Doja Cat was Planet Her, which was released in 2021. Along with the aforementioned SZA collaboration “Kiss Me More,” Doja released the singles “You Right,” “Need to Know,” “Woman,” and “Get Into It (Yuh),” off the Planet Her album. The album nabbed two major Grammy nominations for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.

Despite the huge success of Doja Cat’s Hot Pink and Planet Her albums, she previously tweeted that those albums were “cash grabs,” before deleting those comments. Doja is known for joking around with her fans and on social media, so it’s possible that she was just kidding. Whether she was kidding or not, she definitely was being serious about the album being more rap-focused.

Right now, there isn’t a lot of information about Doja Cat’s upcoming fourth album, but we’ll undoubtedly be learning more soon since the lead single is already out. Fans are definitely wondering what kind of features she’ll be having on the album, as she always draws in a lot of big names. For instance, Planet Her included major features from Young Thug, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, JID, SZA, Eve, and Gunna.

Doja Cat will undoubtedly nab some big names for her next album too. As evidenced by “Attention,” it seems like Doja will be working with Y2K and Roget Chahayed again, as they both produced tracks on Planet Her. For now, they’re likely going to keep any new details under wraps while “Attention” blows up on the pop charts.
