Aubrey Plaza is on the cover of the latest issue of C Magazine, and to celebrate and promote the issue, she shared some of the steamiest shots. Right up front in the series of pics is a black-and-white shot of the actress in fishnet stockings. It’s followed by a snap of the star applying some glamorous earrings, and the sexy cover shot from the issue itself.

Aubrey Plaza’s career is in an interesting place and the former Parks & Recreation star knows it better than anyone else. In her interview with C Magazine, Plaza says she’s being haunted by “the ghost of April Ludgate,” her Parks character, because she’s “trying to decide” not only what the world expects and wants from her, but what she expects and wants from herself.

Plaza had a much-talked-about hosting gig on Saturday Night Live recently, something she calls “an interesting exercise in deciding for yourself what version of yourself you’d like to put on display.” To demonstrate, she went on to describe the chaotic thought process that unfolded during her monologue:

“My brain starts to short-circuit, because I have a hard time knowing what people expect. Of course, the first thing I go to is the April Ludgate deadpan weirdo persona that people project onto me. But then I don’t know anymore. I must be on this show because everybody saw The White Lotus, or everybody saw my movie Emily the Criminal, or some combination.”

In spite of delivering amazing performances in Emily the Criminal, the incredible FX series Legion, and The White Lotus, Aubrey Plaza clearly has yet to escape the hold of April Ludgate. She played the monotoned, disaffected young woman for all of Parks & Recreation‘s seven seasons, who eventually marries Chris Pratt’s sweet but dimwitted Andy Dwyer and becomes something of a spiritual apprentice to Nick Offerman’s iconic Ron Swanson.

Considering April Ludgate is the part Aubrey Plaza has played the longest, from 2009 to 2015 in over 120 episodes, it’s tough to blame fans too much for continuing to associate Plaza with April. As far as the number of appearances is concerned, in second place is Legion and at 27 episodes it isn’t even close to the time Plaza spent in Pawnee.

Speaking of Marvel — Legion‘s main character is from Marvel, though it began before Disney’s acquisition of Fox and so isn’t a part of the MCU — one of the next roles Aubrey Plaza will use to stretch her wings will be for Disney+’s upcoming WandaVision spin-off Agatha: Coven of Chaos. We don’t know yet exactly who Plaza will play in the series, but some are hoping she will reprise her character from Legion; signaling something of a merging of the MCU and Fox’s X-Men narratives.
