Katee Sackhoff: How She Got Nude With Tricia Helfer In The Name Of Charity
Katee Sackhoff is best known for Battlestar Galactica and Star Wars, but she's also posed nude for the charity Acting Outlaws.
Katee Sackhoff has spent the bulk of her career on the small screen in some of the best sci-fi has to offer. From Battlestar Galactica to The Mandalorian, the actress is well known among the fanboy and fangirl crowd for her work.
But she has also crossed over, quite successfully we might add, to feature films and has also done plenty of voice acting. Thankfully, she does not show any signs of slowing down. And Katee Sackhoff even went nude in the name of charity.
KATEE SACKHOFF GETS NUDE WITH TRICIA HELFER
Katee Sackhoff’s career isn’t all about acting, she’s gotten nude for charity as well. With her Battlestar Galactica co-star Tricia Helfer, the two have combined their efforts to form Acting Outlaws.
This motorcycle-riding charity first took place in 2014 with its goal of raising awareness and money for causes that include the Gulf Restoration Network, the Humane Society, and the Red Cross amfAR.
Sackhoff said of the very first Acting Outlaws charity, “We are so excited to be hosting the 1st annual PATH Home ride. Our goal at Acting Outlaws has always been to do good while having fun and this ride is a perfect example of how effortless giving back can be. We look forward to riding with old and new friends on November 2nd [2014].”
Helfer also commented on the charity, “We have been lucky to have been involved in rides such as the Kiehl’s Liferide and the Tulip Ride, among others. We have a great group of friends that we often ride with, who have agreed to donate their time and join us on November 2nd to help raise money and awareness for homelessness with PATH – the leading organization in Southern California dealing with this staggering problem.”
And on the website, there are photos of her and Helfer for sale in various stages of undress. One of them, called “The Flash” in which Tricia Helfer and Katee Sackhoff get nude for an oncoming motorcycle rider which also includes a personal message for $50. It’s certainly a statement about how far they are willing to go for the cause.
The PATH that Helfer is talking about is People Assisting The Homeless, which is a group of agencies that fight a continuous battle to end homelessness for individuals and families throughout Southern California. What a great pairing to help the homeless.
So, in this respect Katee Sackhoff getting nude was part of giving back. If looking for major returns, this makes sense on some level.
SHE STARTED ACTING WITH FIFTEEN AND PREGNANT
Katee Sackhoff’s initial foray into acting was at the age of 18. It was a Lifetime movie called Fifteen and Pregnant and co-starred Kirsten Dunst. Though Katee Sackhoff wouldn’t get nude in a movie about teen pregnancy, the acting bug bit her and she then appeared in two series: Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane, and Chicken Soup for the Soul.
She followed that up with Hefner: Unauthorized and Locust Valley and then moved into the first of many TV series by starring in MTV’s Undressed.
The next couple of years had Katee Sackhoff (not nude) moving on to other TV series such as The Fearing Mind and The Education of Max Bickford. She was also seen in her second feature (her first being My First Mister) the horror movie Halloween: Resurrection.
This all led Katee Sackhoff to one of her more well-known roles in the reboot of Battlestar Galactica.
KATEE SACKHOFF IS BATTLESTAR GALACTICA’S STARBUCK
Katee Sackhoff getting nude for charity was a byproduct of her getting famous for her best role. At first, the reboot was meant to be a mini-series in which Katee Sackhoff starred as Kara ‘Starbuck’ Thrace. “Starbuck,” as many of you BG fans are aware, was made famous by Dirk Benedict in the first iteration of Battlestar Galactica, the 1978 TV series.
With the mini-series becoming as popular as it did, this prompted a full-on reboot for a new Battlestar Galactica series. The new series lasted 74 episodes, covered four seasons, and also included the 2007 movie Battlestar Galactica: Razor.
For her portrayal as Starbuck, Katee Sackhoff was nominated for four Saturn Awards, winning the award for Best Supporting Actress on Television in 2005.
Though fans might have wanted to see Katee Sackhoff nude in some fashion for the show, her role in the series was one of the true highlights of a series that had a number of them. There’s a reason it is a fan-favorite even to this day and widely considered one of the best television series ever.
Thrace’s end on the series (or at least the first one) was particularly brutal for fans and much of that was because of how good Katee Sackhoff was as the character.
KATEE SACKHOFF PLAYED THE BIONIC WOMAN
During her time on Battlestar Galactica, Katee Sackhoff continued to find other ventures. She joined another reboot, this one the Bionic Woman which lasted one season, though Katee Sackhoff didn’t get nude in this one either.
In it, she played the first Bionic Woman, the evil Sarah Corvus. She also took on her first voice acting role when she joined Robot Chicken as Bitch Puddin, a foul-talking, crass, and violent 8-year-old who finds herself killing people quite often.
Sackhoff’s run on Battlestar Galactica ended in 2009 but her career didn’t skip a beat. She nabbed a recurring role on the series 24, and also found herself guest-starring on The Big Bang Theory. That had Katee Sackhoff nude in the bathtub, but this was network television folks.
There was also CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Workaholics while also doing more voice work on Futurama, The Super Hero Squad Show, and The Cleveland Show.
Sackhoff also did some voice work on video games such as Halo 3, Resistance 2, Spider-Man: Edge of Time, and Eve: Valkyrie.
SHE STARS IN RIDDICK AND LONGMIRE
Katee Sackhoff getting nude hasn’t been the calling card of her career. She’s an action actress through and through. One of Katee Sackhoff’s more prominent feature film roles came in the 2013 sci-fi hit Riddick with Vin Diesel. In the movie, she played an intergalactic mercenary who was charged with hunting down Diesel’s Riddick.
While a good portion of Sackhoff’s career has revolved around science fiction fare, she has pulled down roles that were not science fiction related. Case in point, her time on the modern western A&E/Netflix series Longmire. In it, she played Vic Moretti, a sheriff’s deputy in the county of Absaroka. The series ran for six seasons, all of which Sackhoff was featured.
Katee Sackhoff also continued to work in feature films. On top of Riddick, she was also seen in the horror film Oculus, the crime drama Tell, the comedy Girl Flu, and another horror film, Don’t Knock Twice. But it always seems, for Sackhoff, to come back around to science fiction.
KATEE SACKHOFF IS ON INSTAGRAM AND HAS A YOUTUBE CHANNEL
Katee Sackhoff is 42 years old and is an advocate of healthy eating and exercise. For some time, she had a popular YouTube channel where she gave diet and exercise tips to her followers. She’s also engaged to her channel’s cameraman, Robin Gadsby. The two got engaged in April 2020.
While she hasn’t posted anything on that feed (no, folks, no Katee Sackhoff nude pics coming here) in a couple of years, the videos have hundreds of thousands of views on the platform.
And Katee Sackhoff is also active on Instagram. She has more than 380K followers on the social media platform and can be found posting updates on her family and general life pieces. But she’s also involved in different charitable work, including working to raise money for children with cancer.
KATEE SACKHOFF IS BO-KATAN KRYZE IN STAR WARS
These days, Katee is headed for even bigger stardom by joining the Star Wars universe. She voiced the character Bo-Katan Kryze in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars back in 2012 and also again in the series Star Wars Rebels.
That character has now gone from an animated version to the live-action real deal. She played Bo-Katan in Season 2 of The Mandalorian. And she reprised the character in Season 3 in a big way. She was one of the key pieces to the overall story and took on a big-time role. It’s unclear her future involvement but one has to assume this isn’t a one-off for the franchise.
