The Boys Star Strikes Back At Online Trolls
The Boys star Erin Moriarty is now firing back at internet trolls that have attacked her on online forums.
The Boys is arguably one of the biggest shows on television right now. The Amazon Prime Video series is currently filming its fourth season, which was greenlit before the third season had ended. One of the stars of that series is Erin Moriarty, who portrays the fan-favorite character, Starlight. For some reason, she has come under fire by sexist trolls who have attacked her via subreddits and other forums. She has now responded to these trolls, stating that “This has only strengthened my empathy muscle and to anyone who comes at me: I see you, I don’t hate you, I only empathize and forgive.” You can see her full response in the image above.
Erin Moriarty is certainly taking the high road when it comes to how she should react to people attacking her for playing a character. Even more so because Starlight happens to be one of the best parts about The Boys. With this internet hate that she is being targeted with, Moriarty is becoming Starlight in real life as well. The actress noticed the similarities, as she addressed them in her Instagram post. Starlight would fight back against those who would attack her, and she is now doing so against those who are saying horrible things about her on the internet. Jack Quaid even responded, who plays Hughie and the love interest of Starlight. According to Quaid, “Keep shining bright. Leave the trolls to us. We got your back.” We would certainly not want the men who star in The Boys to come after us. They are superheroes, after all.
Again, it is quite odd that anyone would be attacking Erin Moriarty in such a negative way. She has proven throughout the show’s three seasons that she is a captivating character. Her acting prowess has carried her into a position of being beloved by those of us who don’t hide behind keyboards while saying negative things. However, haters are always going to exist, and Moriarty realizes that. She has responded with the utmost maturity and no matter what, she is going to remain Starlight for the foreseeable future.
The last we saw The Boys; Starlight (Erin Moriarty) did betray the Seven by posting what Homelander is really like to the public. This led to her being recently taken off the mural by Vought. Their social media page is quite honestly one of the best in the world. However, this could be where the internet trolls are attacking her as if they have some sort of stake in the fake personas of the characters shown. Allegiance to Homelander is fine, but the show is not real. Some people need to be reminded of that.
The Boys Season 4 is currently filming, and no matter what the internet haters have said, we can’t wait to see Erin Moriarty return as Starlight. Again, she is one of the best parts of the series, as she has always held her moral ground as a character. It also appears that her moral ground as a normal person is being withheld to, which we salute her for. Despite what the internet trolls have said, Moriarty is a fantastic actress, and she has proven that many times over.
