The success of Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+ shows that Kenobi truly is one of Star Wars‘ best Jedi. There are just two episodes left to run on the limited series, with the finale set to air on the Disney streaming service on June 22. However, for those keen to see Obi-Wan back in theatres, Collider reports that all six episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi will be screened simultaneously in a one-off event at the Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto, with a live Q+A with showrunner Deborah Chow and star Hayden Christensen.

Movie and/or television marathons are a treasured experience for almost any cinephile, especially when experienced on the big screen. Offer up a marathon to fandom as devoted as Star Wars, and you have an almost biblical experience on your hands. So, for those lucky few that are able to attend this event in Toronto, it will likely be a watch along of a lifetime, given the live Q+A that will follow. Many more Kenobi fans will be hoping then that the rumors Comicbook.com reported on June 13 that Cineplex will be running the marathon in multiple screenings turn out to be true. The rumors in question surfaced via StarWars.net whose keen eyes have spotted a Cineplex listing suggesting that all six episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi will be screened simultaneously. The cinema listing is titled Obi-Wan Kenobi Entire Season and Q+A. The screening has a runtime of 5 hours and 20 minutes. As well as this, the Cineplex listing states that the Q+A will be live.

As previously stated, however, the reports of the wider screening of the Obi-Wan Kenobi cinema marathon are nothing more than rumors at this stage. Especially since Collider’s report states that the screening will not be available in countries outside Canada. But in a further twist, Insidethemagic understands that the marathon will be available in ‘select’ Cineplex theatres. To know Obi-Wan Kenobi’s true cinematic fate is proving almost as difficult as stealing the Death Star plans.

Given that Star Wars has a strong track record of offering up marathons for its movies, it would be no surprise if these rumors do indeed turn out to be true. If Star Wars fans’ dreams become reality, then Obi-Wan Kenobi would turn out to be more than a suitable recipient of such a marathon. The debut episode of Deborah Chow’s limited series became the most-watched Disney+ original premiere ever and Ewan McGregor’s incarnation of the beloved Kenobi is a fan favorite. As well as this, the series features the iconic Darth Vader, and an opportunity to put cinema’s greatest villain on the big screen in as many theatres as possible should not be missed.

Come what may of Obi-Wan Kenobi’s cinema run, it will be fascinating for fans to hear from Deborah Chow and Hayden Christensen in the live Q+A at the Toronto screening. Will Christensen give select fans the scoop on further Star Wars involvement? Will Deborah Chow make Ewan McGregor’s dreams of a second Obi-Wan series come true and what will become of Kenobi, Vader, Young Leia, and the Inquisitors in the final two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi? These questions will be answered on June 15 and June 22 as the fifth and final episodes air across the next two Wednesdays on Disney+ and potentially more than one theatre on June 22.
