Rachel McAdams is open to reprising her role as Christine Palmer in an upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe project. The actress made the revelation in an interview with Empire. “You never know what’s going to happen with the MCU, right? It’s vast and endless, so… to be continued,” the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness said via The Direct.

She also talked about the difficulties that come with working on a superhero film. “What I took away from it is that green-screen acting is hard,” Rachel McAdams explained. “And that you have to be really fit to make a Marvel movie. I had to really tap into my figure-skating, sporty side from another life.” This isn’t the first time the 44-year-old has talked about staying in the MCU.

Rachel McAdams discussed a comeback shortly after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was released, describing the role as a great gig. “I wouldn’t be sad to keep going with it,” she said. “It’s a fun part. And I liked that she’s gone in different directions. And now that the multiverse is open, anything could happen. The world’s your oyster.”

Interestingly, Rachel McAdams was offered the role of Pepper Pots in the first Iron Man movie. But the actress declined, as she wanted to focus on her family in Canada. At the time, she also turned down roles in Casino Royale, Mission: Impossible 3, and The Devil Wears Prada. While she does wonder about what could have been, the Mean Girls star is happy with the way things unfolded.

Rachel McAdams ultimately became a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2016 as Christine Palmer in Doctor Strange. She reprised her role in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. She also lent her voice to an alternate version of Palmer in the What If…? episode titled, “What If… Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands?” on Disney+.

While Rachel McAdams is hopeful about to returning as Christine Palmer, Marvel Studios hasn’t confirmed a comeback for the character. But a third Doctor Strange movie is rumored to be in development, with the studio fast-tracking its release so that the film hits theaters before Avengers: Secret Wars in 2026.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Benedict Cumberbatch is expected to return as Doctor Strange, with the story picking up right after the events of its predecessor. In the closing moments of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the titular hero traveled to the Dark Dimension with Clea to fix an incursion he caused. America Chavez and Charlize Theron are rumored to have signed on for the film.

Meanwhile, Rachel McAdams can be seen in the comedy-drama, Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. The movie is based on the 1970 Judy Blume novel of the same name, which director Kelly Fremon Craig has adapted. The story follows 11-year-old Margaret, who contemplates everything about life after moving to a new town.

She relies on her mother and grandmother for love and support. Along with Rachel McAdams as Barbara, the movie stars Abby Ryder Fortson as the title character, Elle Graham as Nancy Wheeler, Benny Safdie as Herb Simon, and Kathy Bates as Sylvia Simon.
