Carrie-Anne Moss is slated to co-star alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in Fubar Season 2, the sophomore season of the Netflix espionage-themed show.

Last year, Arnold Schwarzenegger stepped into his first leading role in a television series. Despite being rated as “Just OK” by review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, Fubar is in production for a Season 2. And this time, they’re bringing in the big guns.

Carrie-Anne Moss Joins Fubar

Carrie-Anne Moss, who is most well-known for playing Trinity in the Matrix series, is the perfect person to bring in to spice up an action series that is falling a bit flat. She’ll play Greta Nelso, a former East German spy with a passionate history with Schwarzenegger’s character, Luke Brunner. In Fubar Season 2, Brunner’s old flame is back, and she threatens to destroy the world.

Father-Daughter True Lies

Fubar puts a twist on espionage stories by following a CIA operative father and daughter, Luke and Emma Brunner (Monica Barbaro), who discover each other’s true identities after years of secrecy, leading to tension and challenges as they are forced to work together on perilous missions while navigating their complex relationship dynamics.

Fubar Season 2 continues to follow this spy-family dynamic, with Moss coming in to add even more to the stakes.

The Returning Cast

In Fubar Season 2, Moss joins a returning cast that includes Schwarzenegger, Barbaro, Travis Van Winkle, Fortune Feimster, Jay Baruchel, Milan Carter, Aparna Brielle, Andy Buckley, Fabiana Udenio and Barbara Eve Harris.

Nick Santora continues to serve as the creator, showrunner, and executive producer of Fubar Season 2, while Arnold Schwarzenegger serves as an executive producer alongside Adam Higgs, Scott Sullivan, with Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell.

Season 1 Had Its Good Moments

Fubar Season 1 received mixed reviews upon its release. On Rotten Tomatoes, the series garnered a 51 percent approval rating based on 57 critic reviews, with an average rating of 5.4/10.

Critics on the website noted that while the show had its moments, its humor often fell flat, and its reliance on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s past successes didn’t always hit the mark, something Fubar Season 2 hopefully takes note of to change.

Fubar Was A Small Hit For Netflix

Despite the lukewarm critical reception, Fubar proved to be a hit among audiences, becoming the most streamed television series for the week of its release, May 22–28, 2023, according to Nielsen streaming rankings. So, though the reception was mixed, there’s hope that Fubar Season 2 will find its footing and evolve into a stronger and more engaging show.

Carrie-Anne Moss And Star Wars

While Carrie-Anne Moss is most well-known for leading the Matrix franchise alongside Keanu Reeves, the 56-year-old actress has quite a few projects in the pipeline. In addition to starring in Fubar Season 2, she is set to appear in the Star Wars spinoff series The Acolyte on Disney+.

Meanwhile, Arnold Schwarzenegger also has quite a few projects in the works, including two TV series, Outrider (rumored) and Manningcast, and four movies, Kung Fury 2, Breakout, The Legend of Conan, and The Man with the Bag.
