Johnny Depp won his defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard, and that could lead to the man raking in many more opportunities. He recently joined TikTok and had a massive amount of people follow him. The video showed Depp rocking out with long-time collaborator Jeff Beck. Beck and Depp also released a new single and have a joint album coming out soon. However, something even more exciting might be happening in the actor’s life. During a video taken at Disneyland Paris, an image of Captain Jack Sparrow was shown on the castle, leaving people to speculate about the man’s return to the franchise. You can see the video below:

Johnny Depp had stated in court that he would never return to Pirates of the Caribbean, even if they offered him $300 million. However, he could have just been upset at the fact that Disney had not backed him up during his legal issues with Heard. They did have to keep their “squeaky clean” image upheld and associating themselves with a potential abuser was something that was never going to happen. However, Depp has since been absolved of those claims in court. Does this mean he might return to the franchise?

Jerry Bruckheimer had voiced his support for Johnny Depp while the trial was going on, leaving people to speculate about the potentialiality of the actor returning. Bruckheimer has also announced that there are three different Pirates of the Caribbean films being worked on. One involves Margot Robbie, with Bill Nighy being discussed to return as Davy Jones. A second has been reported with Dwayne Johnson taking the lead spot. That leaves a third film. This could mean that all three of these films are meant to intertwine into a bigger Pirates of the Caribbean universe. Putting Depp back as Captain Jack Sparrow might be the right move now, especially since the public opinion of the man has grown exponentially since the trial commenced.

Much like Chris Evans as Captain America and Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Johnny Depp was the perfect casting as Captain Jack Sparrow. Although the last few films were underwhelming, this franchise lives and dies on the shoulders of Depp. Although he may be upset with how Disney handled his situation, they could throw a ton of money at the man to return and drive this new rebooted franchise. It would make complete sense. Margot Robbie is a fantastic lead, as is Dwayne Johnson, but no one lives the pirate life quite like Mr. Depp

Johnny Depp may have been completely removed from all promotions before, considering he was in such big trouble before the trial took place. He was labeled a “wife beater” by The Sun, which was a case that he lost. That definitely did not help his public image. However, now that the trial is over, Disneyland might be putting the man back where he belongs to hint at a much bigger comeback. This is speculation at this point, but it would be exciting to see the man return to true form in his Hollywood comeback.
