When Bridgerton Season 2 was released in March 2022, the series broke the Netflix record for the most-viewed show in a week, leaving fans eagerly anticipating Season 3 after the season’s heartbreaking finale. Unfortunately, fans of the show will have to wait a little longer than anticipated as Hello! just spilled the news that the next season of Bridgerton won’t be released at the end of this year as expected but will now be coming out sometime in 2024.

Adjoa Andoh, best known for her role as the formidable Lady Danbury, dropped the bombshell about the Bridgerton Season 3 updated release date on the red carpet at the Pride of Britain awards while speaking with a representative from Hello!.

It’s reported that the premiere of Bridgerton Season 3 has been pushed from the end of 2023 to sometime next year.

While Netflix has yet to unveil the official release date, Adjoa let it slip that the series release has been delayed with a release date sometime in 2024. While it’s a bit later than we wanted to return to Regency-era London, the actress also offered some tantalizing details about what we can expect in the upcoming season to hold us over until new episodes come out.

The anticipation for Bridgerton Season 3 has been building steadily, and Adjoa shared the sentiment, saying, “It’s very gratifying because we’ve held our breath for a long time.” The actress revealed that “because of the way the year’s panned out,” the next season of the popular Netflix show would be released later than anticipated. She was likely referring to the writers’ and actors’ strikes that took place over the spring, summer, and fall.

The heart of Bridgerton Season 3 will center around the romantic entanglements of Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington. As Adjoa herself confirmed, Netflix viewers can expect “more intrigue and romance” as the series delves into the complicated dynamics of their relationship.

“More intrigue, more romance, more fabulous outfits, locations, and a bit of  ‘how’s your father,’ of course. If you like the show, you’re going to get more of the same with bells on this season.”

Her character’s journey takes a turn as she endeavors to find a husband who can provide the independence she needs to maintain her double life as the elusive gossip columnist, Lady Whistledown. However, her confidence wavers as her initial attempts in the marriage market prove to be less successful than she had hoped.

Colin Bridgerton, portrayed by the charming Luke Newton in the Netflix series, offers to mentor Penelope in Bridgerton Season 3 by teaching her the art of confidence and helping her secure a husband during the season. Undoubtedly, this triggers a delightful twist of fate as Colin begins to realize that his feelings for Penelope might actually be romantic.
