The internet began to get massively excited based on a tease that both Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox had been hyping up this past week on their social media channels, especially considering both had elements of Back to the Future lingo deeply embedded in the captions of their posts. While fans were hoping for a legacy movie or some sort of series, the reveal has now been showcased as a Back to the Future web shop. This new web store currently has nothing to purchase, but fans are now starting to speculate that it could be a new line of NFTs that will come racing into the world quite soon.

The NFT speculation currently holds no merit, but we are all hoping that this new Back to the Future shop is going to be home to some exclusive merch that highlights just how special this trilogy of films is. We are all certainly wondering if there are going to be some hoverboards that will make it onto the store, as those are now more of a possibility to actually exist than they were being portrayed in the 1980s.

Back to the Future

Both Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox also took the stage at New York Comic Con and their reunion was something quite special, as the pair shared a hug that made everyone’s heart melt, especially considering that Fox doesn’t engage in too many public appearances these days. Though they had not brought up this new Back to the Future shop while on stage at NYCC, it was still fantastic to see them speak about the trilogy, and how the film series clearly changed both of their lives.

Back to the Future was released in 1985 and would eventually spawn two sequels that have stood the test of time, literally. Fans have been clamoring for a fourth movie for a long time, but Michael J. Fox being diagnosed with Parkinson’s has all but wiped out that possibility. Fox has mostly given up acting, though he has held several roles in the last five years.

Michael J. Fox has been quite candid about his struggles with Parkinson’s, even writing several books about his experiences with the disease. While he might not be physically able to produce another movie, he clearly sees how important the franchise is to fans. This new Back to the Future shop is something likely special to both Fox and Lloyd, just as much as it is to fans.

For now, fans can plug in their email address to the Back to the Future shop, which will likely alert everyone once whatever items are going to be sold in the shop become available. We are hoping that there are going to be memorabilia pieces from the trilogy being sold, likely for charity, and other exclusive merch for long-time fans to get their hands on.

If you are wanting to get your hands on something from this Back to the Future shop, keep your eyes peeled on the social media pages of Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox. Also, go put in your email address so you can be one of the first to find out what great items are going to be up for sale.
