Thor: Love and Thunder is just weeks away from being released, and the promotion for the film has been fantastic up to this point. There have been trailers, TV spots, and more added to hype up the next MCU entry, and arguably the most anticipated film of 2022. One of those promotional tools is a clip that shows Chris Hemsworth as Thor being made fun of by everyone’s favorite character, Korg, played by Taika Waititi. The pair creepily stare at Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), as Korg comments on the fact that Thor must watch his ex-girlfriend and ex-hammer be away from him. You can see the clip below:

This hilarious clip is one that should make any fan of Chris Hemsworth laugh out loud. Though he was once a very brooding version of Thor, he is now one of the funniest characters in the MCU. Well, that might be because he is also being aided by Korg, who is just as hilarious. Either way, the video pokes fun at Thor having to deal with seeing his ex, and knowing that he is presumably no longer worth enough to wield Mjolnir. Though this is speculation, Thor: Love and Thunder might be following the same storyline as The Mighty Thor, which see Jane Foster assume the role of The Mighty Thor, while Thor Odinson attempts to discover who he is, and why is no longer worthy. That does seem to be the sentiment shared in the trailer for the film.

The last time that we saw Thor, he had left the events of Avengers: Endgame riding alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy. He was a much fatter version, which seems to have been addressed in a wonderful montage in the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer. However, he seems to have lost the taste for battle, which would make sense on why he loses Mjolnir. The hammer is meant to be wielded by a fierce warrior, and Thor might no longer be that. At least until he meets Gorr the God Butcher. Either way, Thor seems to be dealing with the pain of that fact and seeing a much bigger Jane Foster wielding his former hammer.

Natalie Portman was recently interviewed about how she got into shape for the film, considering she is meant to be the same size as Chris Hemsworth. That’s to say that she is supposed to be the same height. She had apparently had to walk on a deck that was made by the crew, so she could appear to be around six feet tall. However, she does look quite buff in the trailers and the above video. It is going to be interesting to see her in the full Mighty Thor getup.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to fly into theaters on July 8th, and we will finally see how Thor (Chris Hemsworth) loses Mjolnir, how Jane becomes worthy, and so much more. We are more than excited to see how this film pans out, especially considering Taika Waititi is in the driver’s seat again.
