See The First Look At The Bloodstrike Movie From Deadpool Creator

By Douglas Helm | Updated

Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld took to Instagram to share a proof-of-concept video on the Bloodstrike movie, and it’s looking amazing. The proof of concept trailer was put together by Phillip J. Silvera, who served as stunt coordinator on 2016’s Deadpool, making him the perfect person to take on this movie. Liefeld hopes to bring Silvera on to direct the feature film if they can get a studio attached to make it.

Deadpool creator posts a proof-of-concept video to his Instagram for the film adaptation of another of his comic book creations — Bloodstrike.

Bloodstrike is a team of super agents that comes from Liefeld’s Extreme Studios of Image Comics in the 1990s. Liefeld also created comic characters like Deadpool and Cable, making Silvera a perfect pairing for this film. Unfortunately, Liefeld has run into some obstacles in bringing the film to life.

Bloodstrike originally had Akiva Goldsman and Graham King attached to make the film and also had Netflix attached at one point, but those deals have all fallen through since then. Now it seems like Liefeld is ready to just push the film through himself, and bringing Deadpool‘s Silvera along for the ride appears to be part of that plan. If they find the right studio, this film could certainly be another huge R-rated success like Ryan Reynolds‘ Merc with a Mouth.

Perhaps the key to getting the Bloodsport movie made is attaching a high-profile star like Ryan Reynolds and putting together some test footage with that actor bringing the character to life. Famously, the test footage with Reynolds playing Deadpool was leaked, and the fan hype from the test footage helped to get the movie made. It turned out to be a great decision, as that film ended up being a massive success and got a sequel, with a highly-anticipated third film on the way.

Silvera certainly has the ideal resume to bring a Bloodstrike movie to the screen. Along with being the stunt coordinator for the beloved Deadpool, he was also the architect of the famous hallway scenes from Netflix’s Daredevil. Those who have watched those fight scenes know that it would certainly be special to see something like that brought to the big screen with an even bigger budget.

Bloodstrike originally had Akiva Goldsman and Graham King attached to make the film and also had Netflix attached at one point, but those deals have all fallen through since then.

In any case, Rob Liefeld sharing this amazing proof-of-concept trailer for Bloodstrike is certainly going to get the Internet riled up, and the hype might be enough to help Liefeld and Silvera get a studio and some stars attached sooner rather than later.

The same tactic worked for Deadpool, and even though that character was much more well-known, there’s no reason the tactic can’t work again. It’s safe to say that if the action is the same level of quality as the Deadpool films, then fans will certainly line up to see it.

While fans wait for the possible Bloodstrike movie to come out, they can at least look forward to the upcoming Deadpool 3. The film will be the first entry from the franchise to be part of the MCU, and it will also bring back Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. We’ll be able to see it when it hits theaters on May 3, 2024.
