See Alexandra Daddario As The New Wonder Woman

Since news spread that Gal Gadot would be returning to her role as Wonder Woman for a third installment, a piece of misinformation that was quickly squashed by studio heads Peter Safran and James Gunn, Gal Gadot’s DCU future has remained a mystery. With the future of the DC now sitting in Safran and Gunn’s hands, the pair have been busy recasting up a storm. And, while at this moment, nothing has been confirmed, one Instagram fan is hoping that The White Lotus’ Alexandra Daddario will pick up the Lasso of Truth and transform into Wonder Woman.

A solid choice for the role of the Justice League member, Alexandra Daddario’s past in action films, including Rampage and Night Hunter, would see her easily transition into the role of Wonder Woman.

Taking to social media to share their hopes with other DC fans, user @jaxsonderr shared a rendition of Alexandra Daddario in full Wonder Woman garb. The fan art sees an absolutely jacked Daddario in an almost video game-like style standing proudly in all of her Amazonian glory. Her shiny suit has all the blue, red, and gold flair associated with the hero while she grips the Sword of Athena in her left hand while she forms a fist with her right.

A solid choice for the role of the Justice League member, Alexandra Daddario’s past in action films, including Rampage and Night Hunter, would see her easily transition into the role of Wonder Woman. And then, there’s the star’s turn as Annabeth Chase in the Percy Jackson franchise of yesteryear, a casting that proves she can fit into the action, adventure, and even fantasy realm of the DC franchise.

More recently, Alexandra Daddario has appeared in drama-heavy productions including the first season of HBO’s hit series, The White Lotus. Her role in the Mike White-created series would see her nab an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress. And, although she may not be playing Wonder Woman any time soon, the star certainly hasn’t slowed down when it comes to landing new projects.

This past year was a big one for Alexandra Daddario as she led the cast of AMC’s Mayfair Witches, one of the network’s first dives into what’s been dubbed as Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe. An immediate hit with fans, the show, which also stars Harry Hamlin, Jack Huston, and Tongayi Chirisa, was picked up for a second season just like its predecessor series, Interview with the Vampire.

Still, even with another installment of Mayfair Witches on her plate, we could definitely see Alexandra Daddario taking on the role of Wonder Woman should she be approached to do so.

The New DCU

Unfortunately, Alexandra Daddario’s fandom and that of Wonder Woman in general will likely be kept waiting for a while before a new star is announced to take on the hero’s role. DC Studio co-heads Peter Safran and James Gunn have made it known that they’re planning to completely revamp the superhero franchise, with a completely different look and story structure.

After Henry Cavill was let go as Superman, the pair announced that they would be moving forward with a brand-new telling in the Man of Steel franchise, titled Superman: Legacy.

Likewise, other DCEU characters of yesteryear, including Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and Ezra Miller’s The Flash hang in the balance when it comes to future chapters for their characters. With DC branching out into other IPs, it seems that for now, fans will simply need to dream about Alexandra Daddario as Wonder Woman.
