Zoe Saldana Shows Off Her Intense New Training In Video Post
Check out the new Zoe Saldana Instagram posts that show off her training regime as she prepares for more work in the Marvel Universe.
Zoe Saldana recently took to social media to share a unique look at her workout routine. The actress shared a video of herself on Instagram doing functional strength and movement exercises that activate her neuromuscular system. These workouts have helped her body to work even more efficiently. In the caption accompanying the post, she wrote, “Nothing better than feeling strong.”
Zoe Saldana didn’t specify exactly what she’s training for. But it’s safe to assume that it’s a combination of regular health and wellness, as well as preparation for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The Marvel star will be reprising her role as Gamora in the upcoming movie, which began production in November 2021. Filming is expected to last six to seven months and is estimated to be complete in April.
Zoe Saldana made her debut as the defiant daughter of Thanos in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy. She reprised the role in the first sequel as well as Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. Fans are eager to catch up with the popular character since she was killed in Infinity War and returned as a younger version of herself who traveled to the present in Avengers: Endgame.
While it’s unclear how her story will play out, Zoe Saldana gave fans a glimpse of Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 with a set photo of herself during the makeup and prosthetics process. She shared the photo on Instagram along with several selfies, which she captioned as, “The many faces of 2021.” The first image shows the actress decked out in Gamora’s green skin and unique face lines.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is written and directed by James Gunn and stars an ensemble cast featuring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, and newcomer Will Poulter. As is the norm with every Marvel movie, plot details for the third installment in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise are being kept firmly under wraps for the foreseeable future.
However, in a 2021 interview with Yahoo! Movies, Karen Gillan said the film would explore the characters from the previous Guardians films on a deeper level. And Seth Green, who voices Howard the Duck in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, said the movie would be about Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and Nebula’s (Karen Gillan) story.
While there are currently no plans for a fourth movie in the franchise, James Gunn has expressed interest in working on another Guardians film. In 2017 he told The Wrap it would center on a new group of characters since he planned to conclude the story of the previous film’s heroes (Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana) in Vol. 3. And if a fourth film wasn’t on the cards, the director said he would continue to work with Marvel Studios on other projects that use the cosmic characters.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, starring Zoe Saldana, is currently scheduled to hit theaters on May 5, 2023, as part of Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
